Hi Keith hope you're well.Great video as always, considering you were hand holding without flash the images were mostly in focus, also as you mentioned the lens might be a bit soft. Never worry about the camera brand, it's the person tripping the shutter that important. I have 2 canon's (1 is a compact) 2 Nikons 1 Pentax I've also owned a fujifilm camera and and olympus in the past, and they were only ever as good as my ability. Great set of photos interesting to see what the small creatures look like close up and personal. Best wishes stay safe Jon and Karen

Hi Jon, hope you are both well. I can confirm the lens is sharp, in an upcoming video I put it on a tripod and get sharp photos. Interesting video Keith. I recently got the Laowa 65mm macro but I find it really difficult (frustrating) to shoot handheld, even at 1:1 (much less at 2:1), it’s probably (it is) my technique because when I use it on a small tripod for tabletop “stuff” I can tell that the lens nails focus and it is very sharp. Be well and stay safe.

Hi Keith hope you're well, thanks for sharing this. One thing I've found over the years I've been on KZfaq is not to get wrapped up in subs and views, it can be a long road to a 1000 subs. I stopped watching the bigger KZfaq photo/ video channels as most of them are pro or semi pro photographers/videographers so are able to spend more time than me taking photos etc. Photography/videography is just a hobby for me so i have very limited time to indulge myself, working 5 days a week (sometimes more) leaves me 2 day but in reality its only 1 day which is normally a Sunday. I struggle to find ideas for a video and then work out how to put it together, also living in a larger town does require a fair amount of travelling to find locations I've not been to. For me KZfaq is just a bit of fun, one day I may hit a 1000 subs, but I think it's a long time away. When I started my youtube channel it was just a bit of fun, i hope people watching my videos find some enjoyment from them but I make them for my own enjoyment primarily. Keep what you're doing Keith as its always interesting. Best wishes stay safe Jon and Karen

Hi Jon, hope you are both well, Good to know I am not alone, i definitely haven’t been too bothered about the subs and views, but I do wonder if I put more into it I would get more subs and views, but at what cost. I’ll keep enjoying what I do rather than it be a “job”. I think my journey to 1k has been greatly accelerated by macro, which I am not happy about because I didn’t want to have a macro channel, I wanted to be outdoors and macro would be a small part of that. I would say over 3/4 of my subs are from macro. Without them I would probably only be on about 300, don’t get me wrong I’m grateful for the subs, but it feels like I cheated a little.
