The Surge and Installation Driver are my go to these days. They can take care of 99 percent of the task I’m doing these days. Only complaint is the stupid switch location on the drill.

Milwaukee M12 is a nice Vacuum. A lot more suction the Dewalt and much quieter which is nice when working in customer’s homes. The Dewalt stays at home in the garage now. I wish Milwaukee have made it a hybrid like the Dewalt. And it’s too bad Dewalt didn’t beef up the motor for better suction because otherwise it could be a nice little unit.

Veto Pro Pac TECH OT LC works out really well for me. I like how I can see all my tool and they’re easy to reach. Very durable. At first I was hesitant about spending almost $300 dollars for a tool tote but it has paid for itself much faster than I thought it would due to the time it saves me every trying to get at or find a tool. And after paying for itself it started making me money. After 8 months it hasn’t shown any signs of wear at all. It should last for many years if it doesn’t get stolen. No more cheap and poorly designed Husky totes for me.

You and I carry many of the same tools. Almost like watching myself unload my own Veto bag. We carry a lot of the same tools. How are you liking that 10oz stiletto? I’ve had mine for 2 years now and it’s about all I use now unless I need to really whale in something. As an added bonus it’s made my bag lighter.

I really like your way of presenting with your jokes and not to forget your explanation about the Domino machine and accessories. Have all the accessories you showed and a few more. And as you say, this machine is really great. Can't live without it (no joke). Keep it up.

I was back at that Woodcraft store recently and now carry the Osmo products but not all of them .I have a piece that I am building and wanted it stain and finish to match other pieces I built but the Osmo was not going to match the color finish . Maybe next time.

About that mount for the laser. If you use the existing hole 1/4-20 right next to the 5/8-11 that you put your converter into, then it would still be flat underneth.

Hey man I honestly had to stop at around 6 ish minutes because the audio result of the editing just got too unpleasant to navigate through. While going through your list of tools is perfectly fine, it's why I'm here, I don't feel mislead as other commenters have pointed out, the thumbnail says "what a pro uses" right? But I think what we're really looking for is the abridged story behind how you arrived at each tool. What have you used during your career that lead up to each item, that kind of thing. Yeah a Festool Track Saw is perfectly fine, but did you start your journey as a beginner with that? Why did you choose that particular tool over others? Regale us! :) I don't mind the presentation of the black room, dark table, and interrogation style light source, but splicing in some B-Roll footage of you using the tool (even silent footage as you narrate like normal) in a practical demonstration would go a LOOOONG way to add a LOOOOT of value (and even provide some useful breathing room to do any audio re-takes with the narration to cut down on the jump-cuts) That's just my two pennies man, I respect the youtube hustle and journey 🙏 bless

Now this is a great comment! Thank you and I hope you stick around as I get better with this. The amount of work it takes to make a simple video is almost overwhelming, especially the technical stuff (camera, lighting and editing), but I’m just throwing stuff at the wall to see what sticks and I’m starting to get the hang of it. The journey will be a long one I imagine.

A good tripod needs to be able to adjust for unlevel ground. I used a photography tripod for that, but it didn't have enough height, but i already had it. For indoor use, you could get away with a shower caddy pole with adjustable height to lock to the top and bottom surfaces, perhaps buying two to allow for high ceilings.

95 is warm, but 108 is near impossible to do sustained work. Even metal tools in the shade feel like they are burning you. I'm in the middle of replacing cardboard (OK, it's really pressboard) soffits and eaves board. Your videos have inspired me to make some jigs to help with the process. I'm about half done, but I understand the pain points of doing this job, at least on my house. Squirrels love chewing through cardboard.

You lost me at Festool.... Ok if you want one, but newbies get the idea they need one, and they don't. And yes, I have lived and worked in Germany, we've owned three Mercedes (two rusted) and two Porches, and I earned a living at one point with a saw. You really and truly can cut a straight line easily with a straightedge and pretty much any circular saw.
@comediccarpenter9 ай бұрын
Well you’re not wrong. But I’m not a newbie and I’m showing the tools I use to make money, I don’t care what brands people choose to use. Most companies now make track saws for a reason. I’ve seen some pretty neat homemade versions too. Whatever floats your boat, as they say.

Why would you use a cordless track saw in the workshop? You have to couple up dust collection anyway, so power is easy. If you are using a track-saw anyway, a table (like the MFT but bigger) gives at least as good accuracy as the table saw. With a better finish. And safer. Plywood edges? Don't use plywood...
@comediccarpenter9 ай бұрын
I don’t own the corded version of the saw. Plus with Bluetooth batteries, it’s starts the vacuum. I have the Festool mft and never found it very useful. I like to break things down into manageable sizes with the tracksaw and then finish on the table saw. As far as not using plywood for cabinet shelves..what would I use?
@Tensquaremetreworkshop9 ай бұрын
@@comediccarpenter The corded version is more powerful and more robust (naturally). My point was that since you are coupling up dust collection anyway there is no great overhead in plugging in power at the same time. The Festool MFT leaves a lot to be desired- it is too small, and the pivot mechanism is bent tin. Very poor quality. A proper table makes cutting a breeze- instead of 'breaking down' with the time overhead and waste material involved, you cut to size in one operation. Precisely. Rather than ply (which has some questionable properties) most of the world uses high density MDF. No edging required, and no flaws to cover up. For an example of a cabinet maker that built for 20 years with only a track-saw, check out Peter Millard (@10MinuteWorkshop). And note his number of followers.

TSO products: 5 stars. Picked up the BenchdogsUK version of the rail square (it looked the business) but the caming action is not as secure. TSO works better. Check out Seneca Woodworking's Domiplates; used to index your Domino when inserting domino's in the edge of plywood. Real time saver. Then check out Ramon Valdez' jig for holding a Domino vertically so you can bring the work piece to the Domino; very clever and the bee's knee's when doing framing bits.

Don’t have any of the bench dogs stuff, although it looks interesting, but yes, TSO makes quality stuff and I’d be lost without the guiderail square.
