These lines just get to me.....cracking song : You could tell I didn't care, you kept pushing till I did Woke up in a pit of despair on your bed And I wondered how I could do without you How absurd, how absurd, how absurd Put my lipstick back on, look myself in the eye

The songs he wrote with DBT were absolutely devastating. You can tell he wasn't in a good place, but dam if those songs weren't powerful. Especially Danko/Manuel and GD Lonely Love.

I realize this is quite old - but just love this performance of hers' just love dark emotion + severity of her look + Imagery: Not sure why the September born Virgo/Americana musician/artistes are so powerful...(we're) a tortured/perfectionist sign, but this stuff just cuts to the bone emotionally...

@skiplewis98728 жыл бұрын
Big fan of Isbell's, but I am more than a little disappointed that he claims Bentley stole his song. it has the absolute faintest similarities, in the melody, and zero in the lyrics. Low class move to start a twitter war over some so unnoticeable.
@johnzackarias117 жыл бұрын
There are actually really strong similarities in the melody and chord progression of the verse and chorus. It's there.
