This is a testament to the toxicity and mind games men impose on women. She's clearly stronger than him and yet he managed to damage her (character) so bad.

Is it impossible for Cooter to redeem himself? My mom always taught me that anyone can redeem themselves if they truly repent and own their faults. Now obviously Cooter doesn't count since he'd been manipulating Beiste and continuing his temper. Suppose, hypothetically, that never happened, just 100% crying and remorse and not even begging her to stay with him. Are there times your actions keep you at fault forever, no matter how much sorrow you feel over them? Is Cooter a good example, even in my hypothetical question?

Dot Marie Jones single-handedly saved Glee's last episodes of the trainwreck season 3 was. I'm still pissed she didn't win the Emmy for her superb acting, one of the best depictions of domestic violence american television has shown. The fear of keep getting hurt if you stay but the anxiety of losing the "love" and "care" of the person you're attached to if you leave

Probably my favorite scene in the entire show. Its a shame this show lost every ounce of soul and effort it once had.

Because she’s not a violent person, just because she hits the gym and looks big. She’s a nice person, probably don’t like fights.

I work in a job where a lot of our clients deal with domestic violence and this scene deals with it so well. It hits why people won’t leave and is tasteful without being overplayed. Makes me cry more than not.

It’s sad that it’s hard for her to leave her husband, but she doing this for herself as she can’t stay in a relationship. She can’t stay with someone that’s gonna keep hurting her. She did the best thing in leaving, the person that’s hurting her.

Beiste is lucky that Roz and Sue helped him when that husband hit Beiste, if he didn’t, Beiste would have been stuck there until who knows how long until he realised that he needs to leave the abusive husband, you could tell that he was undermining Beistes confidence, the confident person that Beiste is. How he was using manipulative ways on to keep Beiste as his wife. Because a lot of people don’t have friends or family who would do something like that.
