I watched this video not because I want it thou it's got some nice retro components and glad you love it. The engine is remarkable. I noticed the seat goes right to the tank. A slight tweak from my xsr900 23 model. I would love that on my bike. Not sure if the seating is the same or tanks longer. Would you know? The mirrors are good but a pain. Alot of xsr riders toss out the stock. I recon you would get better top speed on this beast with the fairings and I'd imagine its been mapped differently. Happy riding hippo man.
@HippoDrones6 күн бұрын
it has some lovely attention to detail. The engine is a peach, I'm still getting used to it and on the tail end of running it in, so not giving it full hard throttle... but wow is it rapid, and so user friendly. The seat is comfy, but it wobbles about a lot, I need to find a way to wedge it in position, have heard it is a simple fix though thankfully, just a shame Yamaha didn't think to do it themselves. I am not sure if they have a different tank. I agree about the mirrors, they work very well, but make the bike very wide and also it is a long way to look to them vs having them on the fairing uppers... I also keep knocking them when walking past the bike in my garage. Not sure on mapping, but had heard it is a little faster due to aerodynamics. Thanks for taking a look mate 🙂

This is my first time seeing this bike and it's soo cool! Would you advise against someone getting this as a first bike though?
@HippoDrones7 күн бұрын
@@GT.Bugger it is a gorgeous looking bike. In the UK, we have quite strict licensing regulations that stop people getting bikes like this as a first bike depending on their age and licence. Personally, as someone who has crashed multiple motorcycles, and most of those crashes were in my early years of riding, I'd always advise against getting something like this as a first bike... £12,500 is a lot of money, and crashing it would cost a bit to fix. So I'd personally, always suggest a lower power, lighter bike that is possibly a bit older, so if you take a tumble, it doesn't cost so much to fix. I do know people who have gotten similar powered motorbikes as their first bike and had no issues. This bike does have a terrible turning circle though, as do lots of sportsbikes, so I'd be more inclined to recommend a more upright, possibly naked bike as a first bike as they are easier to manoeuvre.
@GT.Bugger7 күн бұрын
@@HippoDrones I'm in the UK 😁. 40 years old and doing my direct access. The licencing should also make you competent to ride any bike surely? But I have to agree, I'm thinking of getting a CB650R, I just turn into a magpie whenever I see a cool bike lol
@HippoDrones7 күн бұрын
@@GT.Bugger If you look at the standard of car drivers... I'd have to disagree about competant. The lessons you get doing the direct access will teach you how to pass a test, not how to ride a bike well. That comes with time in the saddle. At 40 years old, I imagine you have a sensible head on your shoulders so may be fine. The good thing about buying a get the hang of it bike is you have the next bike to look forward to! 🙂
