Taking bits from all the extreme metal spectrum with a very few modern vibes, SATYAM gave a dark and intense show

Another extract of this wonderful show by LADEÛLAS, with some strange techno vibes

A very melancolic and atmospheric extract of FLUISTERAARS's performance at Rock in Bourlon 2024

This collaborative song features Yann on charango, Patricio on guitar and Oscar on percussions

I had the chance to see JOUR J MENTAL twice in 10 days, as they were also part of the Rock in Bourlon roster. This second show took place in a very tense atmosphere, both meteorologically and politically speaking. This music actually was the thing I needed in these particular days

Quite groovy brand of metalcore, a nice discovery

An excellent discovery, with fast and straightforward death metal

Earlier in the evening, I saw Void with both his monitoring and his protective earplugs. And here comes another Fleshworm Pandemic featuring a member of INWARD, after Johan played guitar on the same song last year at the Outlanders M.C.

I came without any knowledge of the band, I received one of the best deathgrind shows I saw these last couple of years. Chirurgical drumming, emergency, powerful vocals

A very good and intense performance, mixing 90's "metallic hardcore" and modern melodic metalcore influences

And that's it. The festival was closed by YEAR OF THE LIGHT, which delivered a strikingly loud and apocalyptic wall of sound. What a great ending again to this edition of Rock in Bourlon, after ALUK TODOLO last year which was equally excellent

SLOMOSA unfortunately had plane troubles the day of the show and could not play their slot on the main stage before 1000MODS, so they decided to switch with HEALTHY LIVING, bringing their magnificent stoner rock to the Paon stage, as the headliner. We had the chance to see them in a more intimate atmosphere, and it was one of the best shows I ever attended. Benjamin, on guitar & vocals, is wearing the jacket of french football/soccer player Marcel Desailly, in the colors of France national team in 1998, the year they won their first world cup

The final headliner. Gave exactly the show I wanted to have : big sound, big riffs, big grooves. Even the songs from their last album (which is ... quite subpar) are rendering fine live

This is an extract of an interaction with the audience. ÅRABROT gave a very good performance overall

An impressively heavy and dark show, bathed in smoke

They should have headlined the Paon stage later in the evening, but SLOMOSA had trouble with their airplane being something like 10 hours late, so they switched slots, HEALTHY LIVING getting access to the Abreuvoir a few hours earlier. A very nice performance, quite atmospheric in the right sense

Following KANAAN was not an easy task. I had the chance to see them again in Reims this week, and in this different context I enjoyed the show far more, because this is very good post-punk / noise rock here

Arguably the best show of this whole edition of the festival. My phone fails to give justice to the marvelous sound we got for 50 minutes. This band is just beyond.

Sounded like post-punkized children music, interesting style. Their studio discography is very fun to listen to

First show of the day, first trip in the stratosphere. Very bass heavy, sometimes very hot, sometimes very cold, it mixes perfectly well the playstyles of both bands, taking from the psych/kraut/space rock of LASSOLAS and the synth/doom/black metal of DEÛLE. It happens that, beforehand, I saw both bands separately : LASSOLAS last year, and DEÛLE two days before, both on the Paon stage of Rock in Bourlon.

Cathartic end-of-the-day performance, which was only the 4th live show ever (and the first ever in France) of this emblematic post-black metal band. Both guitar players are basically the full line-up of black metal / neofolk band ISKANDR, which played the festival last year, with an acoustic set in the church of the village

This was very far from what I'm used to listen, but I surprisingly loved this solo electronic performance, which received a warm welcome as the closing act of the Paon stage on this day. Cheers to the security guy grooving on the front and merging very well with the atmosphere of the music

Same comment as DOOL : wasn't in the mood of merging with this kind of show. A mix of a lot of music styles, very atypical, but sadly not my taste

Moshpit of the day. Members of SANGUISUGABOGG were invited to see the show on stage (on the garden side). SANGUISUGABOGG was labeled by WORST DOUBT's singer as "the best death metal band nowadays", and he might be right about it

This band was playing a music genre that had every argument to convince me, yet I failed to enter their show and found it strangely flat, although well performed

A total no brainer. Arguably the best band of the day. I had not listened to death metal in a long time, these guys told me how wrong I was.

Strange show, clean and enjoyable but very far away from my usual tastes

Third fight of the day, with the sun back for good. The band name says it all : it was fast. And it was as good as it was fast, really

Second moshpit of the day, and there it began to rain. Excellent vocals, excellent energy

One of the best shows of the day, even with the heavy rain. Didn't knew anything about them before coming, and I got some big death-doom that flattened my ears

A performance I sadly did not enjoy, discovering the band on the spot and never really "getting into it". It was very well performed though

Local angry punks doing it totally right, with raw and fast hardcore. The set lasted only a little more than 20min

Another post-metal wonder discovered at Bourlon. An excellent performance showcasing their only album to date, but they added new unreleased songs to the set (and I think this is one of them, I failed to recognize the song)
@GreenDent013 күн бұрын
Looked a bit like a very punky version of the Cure (and it works !). Their last EP is excellent, so was their show
@GreenDent013 күн бұрын
Very raw & cold, with just a bit of melody sometimes. An amazing show, closing the first day of the fest
@GreenDent014 күн бұрын
The Paon stage was closed this night and the night after by electronic/synth artists (as the Abreuvoir stage was closed by black metal bands). This synth punk act was very efficient and straightforward

WORMROT played the fest featuring Gabriel Dubko on vocals, but he stepped away for these 2 instrumental tracks from their last album "Hiss", so this is just the 2 remaining members and full line-up of WORMROT on this video. As for the performance, they unsurprisingly destroyed everything and there's very little more useful to say

A powerful sound, and an excellent discovery in the post-metal genre

Very mathy show, very hard to get into but extremely clean and accurate performance
@GreenDent015 күн бұрын
I would qualify this as "doom metal for mentally ill people". It was a blasting performance, and their album is strange and magnificent at the same time
@GreenDent016 күн бұрын
The opener of the Paon stage, with one of the best discoveries I made when listening to some bands of the bill before the fest. I could qualify their performance with the same terms I would qualify their last album : beyond excellent, tearing everything, with a brutal bass sound

Rock in Bourlon 2024 recap = go. 36 bands seen out of 39, means 36 videos beginning today with the opener, polish band CIŚNIENIE and their experimental post-rock, featuring unusual instrumentation in the genre, with the guitar "replaced" by an electric violin and a barytone saxophone
