Magnificent dogs and amazing people helping them. Thank you & God bless you. It must be terrifying to see what these creatures have been put through. Truly there is no other breed like the greyhound.

I rescued Poppy my Galgo 6 years ago. I have had many breeds over the years and 100% Galgo's are the most clean , easy , loving , clever breed. No greed either as she stands and wait's for our Wirehaired Pointing Griffon and our Boston Terrier to eat first then she eats when they have finished aaaahhhh.

The cruelty of Spaniards never fails to disgust me. The owners of Galgo dogs are evil and cruel, stupidity personified and intellectually moribund. I fervently hope that Karma will take her revenge on these deplorable and disgusting inhuman(e) beings.

I need help to adopt a greyhound - I have had two rescued greyhounds. The 2nd one I rescued directly from the Tijuana Agua Caliente Race Track. His name was Winstin and on March 4th e passed away at almost 13 years old. I have been unable to adopt another greyhound because I live in Mexico and the rescue groups rescue groups in California forbid greyhounds to adopt south of the border. I am completely heart broken - can anyone help me PLEASE

We do own two of them (in Belgium). Rescued, of course. The loveliest hounds in the world !! (But in our case, we had the chance to have enough land for them to exercise exercise (with our pug ! ;-) ), and enough patience with the one who was considering us as dogs, not as humans. Two years later, it settles ;-)

My wife and I adopted Ruben, a 2 year old rescued Galgo. He is one if the sweetest, most affectionate dogs we have ever known. He is also best buddies with Sergeant, our 2 1/2 year old Rhodesian Ridgeback. He came to us through Sighthound Underground, who worked with Scooby Rescue in Spain to bring him here and foster him. I’m really grateful for everyone who helps get these wonderful dogs into better, happier homes.

Education and government legislation is the only thing that will solve this. Parts of the EU of so backward and not all at what they claim. These dogs are the gentlist creatures and trouble free, loving pets. It's like killing angels.

Both legislation and attitude has changed a lot in recent years. That said, please avoid such generalizations. Listen to the people in the documentary telling how it is Spanish people that are caring for these dogs and finding them homes.

What's for us to achieve by this footage? ANY DOG will behave as yours did when it's just the 2 of you, not necessarily when other dogs are around, you try this method with a determined sighthound who totally ignores clickers and ignores treats through a fixation on what it has focused on then you get experts saying to turn around to walk in the opposite direction HAHAHAHAHA easy is it? A 40kg bull sighthound digging in totally focused with tunnel vision, here boy CLICK CLICK have a yummy treat LOL GET REAL PLEASE, and don't suggest prong collars, you wouldn't teach a child by slamming them into an iron maiden would you? You cannot pigeon hole all dogs the same

Such elegantly beautiful hounds... One wonders though if they could live as 'single' dogs in a home?..They might be much happier in a multi-dog home or with one other hound. Early socialisation makes such a difference to ANY dog, these poor souls have not had early care or confidence building...Sterling job done by the staff here. We had an Irish Lurcher, found as a stray when Irish Travellers have moved off from some land [leaving dead dogs behind]...she was 16 weeks old when she was released to us from RSPCA..[.but she was found at about 12 weeks old when found in a very bad state...emaciated &c...the good experience of kennel staff really helped with socialisation with people at that crucial early stage in her life] After training and getting her fit in a few months...the Travellers tried to steal her off us ...[luckily they never succeeded, but it was frightening].

I've actually adopted a galgo a few months ago, she was found in the country side with four other galgos and she had some broken bones and a lot of scars, she's a broken galgo and is scared to death by men but she's getting better every day and isn't scared of people as much as before

I know it's difficult to know, but, was it men that broke these dogs? I used to have a Greyhound. It became obvious later on, that he preferred women over men. Not that he was shy of me, but more that I saw his behavior difference.

Falta información, todos los perros salen esterilizados(castrados), para no tener competencia, y seguir así enviando más perros; ... y ganar dinero.

Well they do get burgled. Thief hoping to find pup not yet castrated. Dont be that ignorant. I see the scars on my galgo every day and it hurts because he knows, when I touch them he crinshes. Because of you these once royal animals are suffering and dying every day ! Shame, shame and again shame. We have our hopes up for the young generation.

@@isabellecasier5702 Madam, you have no right to insult or speak without knowing. I have rescued two greyhounds and I have welcomed them into my home, in February 2020 I took my greyhound to be spayed (neutered) and he ended up dying, the loss has been painful and irreparable. I am against the game of the hare, the races and the uncontrolled breeding that is what happens in the towns of Spain, but not for all this, we must extinguish the greyhound as a pet and let it mark the "galgueros" (the bad guys ), those who continue the cruel tradition. I am a "galguista" (one of the good guys) and when my dog of another breed died, I switched to the greyhound. My greyhound, sleeps with me, goes to the vet, runs through the meadows and as I think € 60 for 15 Kg.

@@76IPV I have every right, I live in Spain and I have adopted a galgo. I do admir the new generation is more aware and do the right thing, but the reality is that many more are still in a different mind order. In 2022 still many thousands are abondoned in the campi to fend to themself. Still today all shelters have galgo's, some have specialised in this breed. All this means a lot of work in needed, we do move forward but it is going with small steps.

HOW come there are 45to 50 thousands galgos murdered every year....THE GOVT.HAS TO PUT A STOP TO BREEDERS,BAN ALL BREEDERS CONFISTICATE THEIR PROPERTIES,THEN THERE WON'T BE GALGOS FOR THE DEMONIC PEOPLE TO KILL OR TO GO HUNTING...LET THE SPANISH HUNTERS GO HUNT THEIR OWN FOOD OR BECOME VEGETARIANS....SPANISH HUNTERS HAVE NO VALUE FOR THE LIVES OF THESE POOR DOGS....LET THE HUNTERS BE BANNED FROM OWNING A DOG UNLESS THEY CAN PROVIDE FOOD/HEALTH FOR THE DOGS TILL THEY DIE...LET THEY UPDATE THEIR DOG LICENSE EVERY YEAR AND SHOW THEIR DOG IS WELL CARED FOR....SHAME ON YOU EVIL HUNTERS,GO KILL YOURSELVES OR JUMP INTO THE RAGING OCEAN...THESE DOGS ARE PRECIOUS MORE THAN YOU.
