Hey man I have the same bike and want to swap a 89 kx250 swingarm, is it possible to your knowledge? Cant wait to see it finished!!
@jkiseracing
@jkiseracing 20 күн бұрын
Hey there. Im not at all sure on that. If you have the measurements of the KX250 swingarm from outside pivot to pivot and the inside pivot to pivot, I could measure mine and see how close it is. The other thing would be swingarm length for chain size and handling as well as shock angle.

Got the same bike. It sat in my parents shed while i spent the 90’s and 2000’s in the military overseas. Then got married and kids. My parents moved and i needed to get out of the shed. It had an 1/4 of dirt on it. Air filter was disintegrated and a lot of dry rot. Just started ordering parts for it and they are hard to find, especially that carb boot and a boyesen rad valve! nice work and I subscribed!

I was wondering if you could help a noob; after months of weekend wars I rebuilt the bottom end of a rm65 (exact same as kx65). It's a 2003 and ran super strong until it wallowed out and froze up. That ended up being the crank shaft roller bearing going to pieces from sitting for about 5 years. Split case replaced fast fwd its all back together. However I can't for the life of me get the bike to start now. I have gone in circles checking compression, spark, timing, fuel... even with the carb out of the way and starter fluid into the cylinder; I can't even get a single pop (sound, a boom, a fire off, an explosion). So probably something really dumb (some little thing somewhere) is happening? Any ideas?
@jkiseracing
@jkiseracing Ай бұрын
Whew. That can be an aggravating thing. Very hard to say. Fuel, air, spark (or electrical) you have all those things? Cdi and kill switch grounded well?

Nice score, she's a runner. I remember i was riding my 79 IT175 in the trails one time and came across a guy on a brand new KDX 200, i want to say though maybe air-cooled bike still. Maybe this was 1985 or so, first time i saw one in person and we ride together for a couple hours. Fun times the 80's were, i actually still have my IT to this day. This will be a cool build! Sounded good too...

But the people that had that kdx in this film prior to the man here those guys ran the hell outta that thing. But this man seems like he holds value in things that bike has a good home now. When mxrevival started the rm250 project I was doing mine, it was a big surprise when I saw you finishing the suzuki (mine is still on process) and then some weeks ago I bought a kdx 220 from the 2000s here in Spain and some days after I saw you bought one too in the first kdx video. 1988 cr125 was the bike I sold after holding out to I was 18 in order for Dad to help me get my first car back in 1987. I cried as it drove away! Lol BUT my car was a 1979 Camaro "who" I owned for 23 years. Dad talked me into selling that one too because I kept it in his garage and hasn't driven it in several years. I cried when it left too!

You’re not going to believe this, but I’ve got a 1984 CR60 project that I’m putting together, and I was just wonder how I was going to polish the tank out. I found a replica plastics kit, but my tanks (I have two) are scratched and faded. I’ll definitely be picking this polishing kit up. I have a few questions if you don’t mind. Are you using the original shock? As far as I can tell, it is not rebuildable. Do you have a line on where to buy swing arm bearings? My air box is in bad shape too. I’m not even considering trying to use it. Can’t for the life of me find another CR60 air box after years of scouring online, but I’ve heard that you can use the box from a CR80 of the same vintage. Do you know if that is true? Honda probably sold a lot more 80’s than they did 60’s. Anyways, thanks for this vid. Subscribed and hoping to see more of your 60 project.

Hey there! Rear shock...I was able to get it rebuilt! Vintage works mx. Swingarm- I believe they were bushings and I just had to re-use. I think I got lucky on this one. Swingarm is tight! Same on airbox. Mine was in good shape. The cr80 box for 84/85 does look very similar. It's possible they are the same but not 100% Check out my social media pages Jkisercustommx on both IG or FB to follow along. I answer most any questions there too.

@@jkiseracing right on! Thanks for the reply. I'll go through my parts. Hope I didn't throw the swing arm bushings away or lose them during my move. Good to know the shock can be rebuilt. That'll save me one headache. No Facebook, but I'll follow your IG. There's a couple of other rebuilds I follow on there. It would be nice if Carson Brown would post more about his 60 build. Even nicer if BBR released some parts, but I imagine it's a pretty limited market.
