It ran great wide open as you could hear a couple of times in the video. The fact is, this is a high-strung race car that does not belong on the street. Our video didn't really do it justice. It's made to go flat-out lap after lap, not putt around town.

I used to run a FJ engined Frogeye back in the 70"s, with 13/1 cr and a 649. On big SU's it cleared it's throat around 3500 and would run cleanly to 8000. But off cam it was still quite drivable, and put up with London traffic without much complaint. Strangely enough I remember going out to get some milk and seeing a Speedwell GT parked up on the Kings Road (this was in 1975) a very rare sighting since they only made about 25. Crikey that almost 50 years ago.

You still have the original 3 speed, which rear end?? My ‘57 has a 4 speed but I had to change out the original 4.11 differential for a 3.36. It’s a bit tall in first gear but much nicer on the freeway.

Love it. Great Job. I just got a 69 1750 and came back from epic road trip. Took tons of footage. Can’t wait to share. Can I talk to you? BTW, I have never seen the chrome around the license plate like that. Is that original, or typically done in the day? How do I do that. Thanks. Keep the content coming.

Nice heel+toe action into turn 1 ... Isn't that 4th gen body? So 1992+?
@fantasyjunction1
@fantasyjunction1 Ай бұрын
Thank you. Actually as a GT1 car this is a tube frame race car with a fiberglass body, so you can make it look like whatever car you want. The chassis itself is from '89 and originally had the correct camaro body for that generation, but was updated later by a previous owner. Another good example of this is some of the Nissans that have raced in GT3... The 240SX S13, 240SX S14, and 350Z bodies were all raced in GT3, all on the same frames with either an L24, KA24E, or KA24DE engine, different restrictor sizes respectively.

It looks like we sold it before we got a chance to write a completed listing of our own, but you'll find a plethora of photos and a link to an even older listing that may contain the history you're interested in. Good luck! fantasyjunction.com/sold/1962-austin-healey-3000-bn7-mark-ii/overview

What equipment did you use to record the sound? A wireless mic on the back?
@fantasyjunction1
@fantasyjunction1 Ай бұрын
Thanks for asking. Our sound capturing setup has evolved over the years, but as of the making of this particular video we were using what we still use today. A digital multi-track recording unit with 2 mics. We use drum mics to be specific, since they have a very high max SPL (made to listen to loud noises!). One mic on the outside near the exhaust, and one mic on the inside to capture a fuller sound, and interior queues like the click of a gated shifter, etc. We synchronize these with the video in post-production. Hope you enjoy! PS - we don't run this advanced setup on all cars, just the ones with a worthy rumble like this Ghibli!

Fantastic car My brother had one in the late 70's I think his one might have been modified as it would rev to 8k in any gear which was around 130 mph in 5th. Car magazine road tests put the top speed at 105mph in 4th (or 5th) presumably couldn't pull more revs in 5th One night we drove from Opunake to Heretaunga (in New Zealand) a distance of 197miles (371km) in just over 3 hours It unfortunately ended up crashed in a sandwich between a Wolseley 100/6 and an Leyland P76 - one of which didn't manage to stop as well as the Alfa
