Very Cool.. Love those 1st Gen. Chevelles. You just can’t say enough good stuff about the Small Bloch Chevy motor.

Why did you only soak your lifters for 2 hours? I was always told that you had to soak them for at least 24 hours is that not true?

I am installing a 2.9 Whipple supercharger on my 2013 camaro with a stock crank that has no keyway slot. I have an ATI balancer and ATI crank pinning tool that I want to install. My question is, do I have to drill the hole in the crankshaft for the pin in any particular place concerning the circumference of the crankshaft?
@kuurizzo1896Ай бұрын
when you lubed the APR crank bolt. Did you put APR lube or some kind of locktight on it?

What mixture of coolant was used? 50/50 is optimal.
@stevespatola763Ай бұрын
An aftermarket adapter can change the oil filter cartridges to spin ons. The oil needs to have SN/SM designation for zinc. Modern oils and engines. may be without that need or designation. I use STP oil treatment in my old cars. It is liaded with zinc.
@stevespatola763Ай бұрын
Old-school in 60 at the Shell station we were taught to lightly lube the hoses as we slipped them on. Otherwise when you need to replace them the come off easily. Prevents rust, too.

Probably active fuel management or direct fuel management.. certain lifters shut down to save fuel . Started in 2007

I have a 1992 Camaro B4C 1LE never in service with 47k on it. Completely stock original. I used to have a 92 CHP unit #2925. I also have the CHP report comparing the Mustang and Camaro.

GM definitely offered a manual gearbox behind the 5.7 350. First was a 4+3 “Doug Nash”, then the ZF gearbox. Granted they weren’t offered in the Camaro but he said GM never offered a 5 speed behind a 350.

Cool car man. I have the same car but for Arizona. 1 of 6 I think I would have to look at the paperwork. The 1992 B4C 1LE we have is all original you can even see where the highway patrol logos were. Also have a 85 auto cross ready Firebird. Regardless wanted to say cool ride coming from a fellow third gen owner.

I bought a z28 1LE new in 1991. 305 , 5 speed. I’ve had tons of cars , most a lot more expensive, but I loved that car more then all of them. No ac was a bit challenging though.

That’s awesome! I haven’t owned or driven a lot of cars but I’ve spent my life dirt biking and can definitely say the B4C 1LE gives me an adrenaline rush every time I drive it. I agree the no AC part sucks…hoping to get the Vintage Air kit installed before it gets too hot.

@@TheWagRanchthere werw tons of 2nd hand DPS cars sold at Auctions in Houston back in '94/'95 they were not considered special just obscure and kind of cool. We knew what they were w baffled tanks and alum driveshaft/coolers/brakes (1LE) but the car got hit and i sold it years after I fixed it to a kid. I fixed up my dads 350 IROCZ after that...4.11s, TPIS lt1 intake, cam, shorty hookers, manual valvebody cop stall 700R.....tuned by mail in prom chip guy in Oklahoma....ran deep 13s 107mph w stamped rocker arms still in place(i wasnt printing money then) lol. I could take out '97 32v cobras and stock LS1 cars. All while running stock ECM w stock MAF and stock air intake w 2 filters.

So, I purchased morel lifters for mine. The hole is either on top or bottom versus the traditional lifter. Which way would you recommend up or down?
@colingoede5705Ай бұрын
My replacement lifters also line up top or bottom. I'm choosing bottom as the oil galley is on the bottom. So assuming more oiling for the lifter this way.

@ davidhowell, The soul of the car is the interior? Who would have ever thought...?
@davidhowell73565 ай бұрын
I have serious reservations about this. Average Joe thinks all cars should take 3 days now. There was a crap ton of planning went into this and big bucks! My biggest gripe is they replaced an already well designed interior with a flat panel hipster interior. I have no issues with chassis, engine or trans. That car lost its soul when the interior direction went south. So sad
