What is interesting here is how the lines of suggestions have started to diverge. Basically it depends on whether you are a Clint Eastwood fan or a Sergio Leone fan. As one of the latter (while not saying anything against Eastwood's acting skills), I think you should go to Once Upon a Time in the West next.

The blue eyed gangster in the showdown in the bar is played by Klaus Kinski. He starred in several must see Werner Herzog films, Aguirre, the Wrath of God (1972), Nosferatu (1979), and Fitzcarraldo (1982) to name three. Check them out when you're feeling adventuresome. Start with Fitzcarraldo (1982) for the music.

Listen to the explosions. I don't know what the technical name for it is but they basically used pre-recorded sounds how much of the background and incidental sounds in this film. And you will hear repeat it over and over explosions and gunshots that are the exact same thing. 😅

I saw this film in 1966. It was my first X - rated film. You had to be 16 to see it and I was only 13. I've loved it ever since.

I know i've spent too much time watching and thinking about this epic masterpiece over the last 50+ years. But one thing hit me, that is very striking: all 3 were bad guys. It's just we decided who was less bad than the others. what Clint (blondie) did to Tuco was a glimpse into how bad he was, from the first time i watched the film. But, his taking out the 3 bounty hunters who tried to take in tuco is what seals it. But it did not hit me until many years later: Blondie was as much a bad guy as Tuco and Lee Van Cleef's character.

I enjoy watching your reviews. However, you should be aware at the time these films were released the approbation "Spaghetti Western" was a perjorative. They certainly weren't considered in the mold of a classic western, but more of a satire on the genre.

Re your comment about Lee Van Cleef's eyes: He once was quoted as saying "The best thing that ever happened to me was being born with a pair of beady eyes".

Since you're dipping your toes into this genre, I wonder if you've ever seen two movies that are actually based in Australia called "Man from Snowy River" and "Return to Snowy River". They are western in theme but more romance type stories that I believe you'd love. They star Tom Burlinson and are absolutely amazing lesser known movies. Never seen anyone react to them online.

Remember, it was Jesse that thought it was Rison, told his mother, got her worried son would die. You heard it happened a lot with that flowers, kids eat, throw up, are fine. That's what Walt did, he's a genius, knew how little to give him, it's Jessie, that said it was touch and go... he's a druggie, without Walt would be in prison or dead. Yes, series is about Walt going bad, but wouldn't kill a kid, but needed Jesse away from Mike and Gus, used Saul and his guys to do it. Kids get flue, vomit, then fine. Think about Jesse respond when heard he was in hospital.Yes, Walt would never give Rison to one he didn't want to kill, like Gus. But Jesse didn't, so Gus would have killed Walt and family.

ONCE UPON A TIME IN THE WEST starting a new "Trilogy" (with "once upon a time revolution" and "Once Upon a Time in America"). This was the "born of the capitalism" trilogy! Once Upon in the West rappresented the end of the old west and its heroes, and starting of the new capitalism era (rappresented by the TRAIN). This is most "eternal" , elegiac and serious movie in front of the Dollars Trilogy. Charachters are more GIANTS (like the old western heroes) and a woman is the CENTRE of the movie for the first time! A very strong woman (Jill) that in the end of the movie rappresented "LIFE" (she carry the water) a new life for the born of the modern America. And for the first time the great and iconic Henry Fonda (John Ford's actor) interpreting a villain... The Morricone's score is one of the greatest and emotional ever written! The beginning of the movie is also a masterpiece of real sounds (without music) that start a new kind of cinema... Probably is the greatest western ever made as mentioned in every movie magazines and site. Scorsese and the whole new directores generation adore this movie!

I despised that Jackson tried to equate "pipeweed" with marijuana, so insulting to Prof. Tolkien's intents and writing, Tolkien specifically said that it was Tobacco when posed the question about its origins, and included words about it in the foreward to the 73 edition

You are the first reactor to notice so many actor's eyes, but that is cool. I've always disliked fast draw since my reaction time is so slow. I've always thought I was more accurate than fast, but Westerns usually showed quick draw. Thanks for dressing up in a hat and poncho. It makes it more fun to watch with you.

If you'd like to try something lighter, there's a 2014 comedy called A Million Ways to Die in the West. Very light, very funny. To me, anyways. Meanwhile, back at the ranch (cliche of an old saying in older westerns), there are lots more Clint Eastwood movies! Thanks for letting us watch with you, and God bless you!
