I am overcome by the joy and beauty of seeing this but I do have to say I really don't like the piano Arrangement per se. The original Studio Arrangement might seem very 60s but I would love to hear her sing the song in that old Groove.

I haven't discovered why yet, but the song always brings tears...so moving..."Light in my head, you in my arms"...WOW! Thank you for posting this version!

Totally different band and sound than the original MSC, but these guys are just as great in their own way. Iain Matthews’ voice has certainly matured over the years, but he’s still a great, expressive singer. I’m so glad he’s still making music.

This version was recorded by a number of musicians in the 20th century, including the version by the 1960s folk rock duo Simon & Garfunkel, who learned it from Martin Carthy. (Wikipedia)

This was a great performance. Collins is managing her voice very well. She concertizes and travels way too much. Spends most of each year on the road and its amazing she's maintained her voice to even this extent. She still pulls in crowds and she's doing what she loves and what the world loves her for. It's cost her. There are costs for all of us in our lives no matter what we choose and which turn we take. I love her very much. I hope I am able to see her in real one last time before she returns to being the glorious Arch-Angel of music she was among the stars and heavens of God prior to her birth on earth.

Having been to the Wickham Festival for a few years now we were really looking forward to 2020, and then the postponed 2020 in 2021. But we were concerned about Covid, it seemed too early to go back into a crowd. A week before the festival we reluctantly decided to postpone to 2022. Then our kids went off to their festivals the week after. One came back with Covid from Boardmasters, the other tested negative after her Bristol festival, but still had to islolate because the friend she was with caught Covid. Next year we will DEFINITELY be at Wickham. It's a great festival.

AFTER ALL THESE YEAR'S, OF VOCALIZING. I JUST LOVE ALL HER FOLK SONG'S SUCH AS BOTH SIDE'S NOW, AND SOMEDAY SOON, PERHAP'S SHE COULD SOUND AS GOOD AS SHE IS TODAY OR ATLEAST ANOTHER MORE TWENTY YEAR'S FROM NOW. JOAN BIAZ, AND JONI MITCHELLE ARE SOME THAT I ADMIRE PERSONALLY. I'M TWENTY THREE YEAR'S BELOW THEM.

So sorry I can't get there this year, especially as I'd love to see The South again (last time was 2018 when they were fab). It sounds like you have a great line-up, and that Peter and team have put a lot of thought into making this the best Wickham yet, and that's saying something after so many wonderful years. I hope it's a sell out for you all, and have no doubt it will be another fantastic festival.
