I've had great success with mounting the end of the barrel in the padded vise and then fitting the stock up onto it once you're ready to mate to two together. That way I don't need to worry about to much downward pressure on the front trying to jack up the tang in the back. The stock is much easier to deal with than the weight of the barrel messing things up.

It looks like you posted two video of this barrel. So the first video was out of the box and this one is after you cleaned it? What did you clean it with because this looks like a different barrel. Did you lap and polish it yourself? If so, what did you use?

There are several videos of the PVA barrels I received. Only 7 mm barrels are the ones I had issues with. the 22 Creedmoor and the 6.5 PRC looked great and shoot great. The 22 Creedmoor just had some sort of film in it so I used CLR and a nylon brush and then Bortech products.

I probably need to come back and do an update video to these products. I should’ve used my FX 120 scale, but it didn’t want to take my V4 apart to do it. Additionally, the accelerator and wipeout when combined as per the instructions does a really good job.but Boretech is my favorite for general cleaning. But on stubborn copper, I like the KG 12.

That Montana Extreme Copper killer is potent stuff. I can't use it indoors, it's harsh. :) I did this same test, but over a 20 day period. The copper killer removed ever so slightly more copper than the Hoppes #9. Just barely more, but Hoppes #9 was the clear second place winner over the others I've tested. I'd choose Hoppes over the Copper Killer, just because of the smell. :)

If you had that barrel lapped, then they did a sucky job. I still see lots of tool marks and honing marks present. They hand lapper needs to be replaced or retrained. Also, any tight spots should have been found during lapping and removed or the barrel should have been rejected and start over.

Yes, I have two others of their osprey barrels and they do well. What happened was these were discount barrels and they probably weren’t making any money on them so they banged out as many as they could . Did not take time to check the reamers or check the speed and feed and lap them. It’s too bad because they do do good work.

@@benjaminermold8683 I have taken factory barrels that looked worse than this, and lapped them properly, and they look twice as good as these when finished. This is a patriot Valley Black Friday special 7 mm PRC barrel. As you can see by the 6.5 PRC barrel and the 22 Creedmoor barrel they can manufacture and create a good barrel. But what I noticed was the black Friday sale special barrels and 7 mm they didn’t put the twist rate on the barrel and They didn’t put a fancy muzzle thread protector like they did on the others . and inside the barrels, the chambers were done horribly , they’re not clean, lots of pits, lands and grooves are not crisp and sharp.

I have a 7 PRC blowout barrel as well. I didn't see anywhere on the PVA website or on the associated snipershide thread where Josh stated that they manufactured the 7mm blowout blanks. He specifically stated that these were NOT Rock Creek or Osprey blanks in the Snipershide thread. I had high hopes and low expectations for a $350 prefit. While I have not scoped mine, I imagine that it probably looks just like yours. However, headspacing was perfect and Hornady factory ammo averages 5/8 MOA and the barrel cleans up fairly easily. I'm not sure that it is fair to compare their $350 OEM overrun blowout barrels with the $650 Osprey barrels. I just twisted on a 6.5x47 Osprey prefit and I have a much higher expectation for how it should perform. Hopefully all of your barrels shoot up to your needs.
