I am confused on M-3 dimensions. The side pockets are 5x5x12 but you said pack is 4 inches deep ? The pack is obviously wider than the side pockets. It looks like the pack would have to be closer to 9 or 10 inches thick. Really nice looking pack.

That came out really great, you should be very proud that, being your first attempt. I’ve thought of making one myself, being that I can’t find one that has everything I want in it, and I’d like to make it work with an Alice frame.

I need that pack with a belly strap also. And a pouch inside to hold the water bottle, with a small strap on the shoulder strap to hold the water bottle straw.

I was at my hunting camp up in Arkansas and a guy from another camp saw my M3 the first thing he said was "You paid a lot of money for that custom pack". It ALWAYS gets drooled over. I am a very happy owner of all my MM gear

Thanks Mr K! Yessir, that’s my sketchbook with all my designs and such. It’s actually a hand-bound notebook I picked up in Ireland a few years ago when we took the kids there. A special book for many reasons!

Love my saw/axe bag. Thinking of putting locktight on the snaps, almost lost that pouch a couple of times. I have a heavy load in it, my diamond sharpeners are steel bases

Oh two toned! I dig it! Are the flaps leather (vs. canvas) because of aesthetics? Or is there an intention there?

I’m glad you like it! I wasn’t sure when I did it but I think I dig the two-tone. Leather flaps are due largely to laziness 😂 it’s much easier and faster to punch out leather flaps than to cut, fold, and seam canvas. Aesthetic too for sure, but primarily for logistics 🙂

Got mine from Guy at end of last Summer and have used it a lot. Aside from looking great, it is super strong and has held up quite well to some rough hikes in the underbrush. I wanted to be able to carry more than the 3 day pack he offers and I am glad I got it, holds tons.
