the 87v doesn't have loz on it, but that function is a low pass filter, for smoothing erratic or stepped ac frequencies - like you'd find feeding a vfd motor. good video otherwise.

Thanks for the video. I have just got one and tested it. I had the same issue shown in your video 5:30 which is AAA batteries do not fit well. Also found accuracy is +\- 5% when compared with a more accurate multimeter. It’s cheap so you get what you pay for I guess.

@@TheElectriciansToolChannel I guess it could be modified by flattening part of the lower Z-shaped spring slightly to work better. Although I don’t recommend as this may void the gOoD tHiNG warranty 🥲

Ideal still makes the solenoid voltage testers, I have the Ideal Vol-Con, that is, because it can test continuity as well as voltage, and yes, I have always called it a wiggy. I don't use my wiggy nearly as much as my Ideal 400 amp AC/DC clamp meter, although it is my go to tester if I'm only verifying the absence of voltage and don't need a precision reading, as it fits nicely in my tool pouch and is far more rugged than my clamp meter. Another thing I like about the solenoid voltage testers is, with experience, an electrician can tell the voltage range he is dealing with by the vibrations and how hard the solenoid pulls when connected, without having to look down at the meter. For instance, if I'm working in a 120/240V 3 ph 4 wire delta panel, I can identify the high leg by feel, since 208V pulls harder than 120V, and line to line voltage 240V pulls slightly harder yet.
@TheElectriciansToolChannel12 күн бұрын
I don't use my as much either, but it does have a place in my work. Now I'm going to have to figure out the vibration part you mentioned.

@TheElectriciansToolChannel12 күн бұрын
Not exactly sure of the glitches you're referring to? But Joe Smith on youtube did a segment on TPI multimeter, I think it was the 194 model and it didn't look to good according to the test he performed. Hopefully TPI saw the video also and corrected the issue moving forward with their newer products.
