HOW OFTEN IS TEBALDI'S GREAT INTERPRETATION DISMISSED AS ...GREAT VOICE PITY ABOUT HER ACTING! WATCH HOW SHE MOVES.....YOU KNOW THAT WHILE ON STAGE NO ONE CAN TAKE THERE EYES OFF HER! SHE DRAWS YOU IN......AND NEVER DOES ANYTHING TO DISTRACT THE AUDIENCE FROM THE DRAMA. SHE IS PURE CLASS.......OTHER SO CALLED ACTORS DISTRACT AND SPOIL THE INTEGRITY OF THE MUSIC WITH BOXING...WRESTLING AND IN ONE THE RECENT CASE...A SPOT OF THE BOSTON STRANGLER...IN CASE OF ONE OF THE MULTIPLE STABBINGS NOT HAVING THE CORRECT EFFECT! NO....TEBALDI RISES ABOVE ALL THIS....THUS THE AUDIENCE IS CAUGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF A REAL DRAMA. THIS IS AN IMPORTANT DOCUMENT........HOW LUCKY WE ARE WE CAN SEE IT!!!

WAS GUELFI THE GREATEST BARITONE IN THE WORLD.....? WELL AT THE VERY LEAST HE IS /WAS....THE GREATEST SCARPIA.....NO DOUBT....EVERY ASPECT HE COVERS IT.......THE MAN WAS A WALKING SINGING TORNADO AND A MARVELOUS ROUSING ACTOR.......AH ....TODAY'S WOKE SISSY DIRECTORS...WHAT WOULD THEY DO WITH SUCH AN ARTIST,??........WHERE COULD THEY HIDE SUCH A BEHEMOTH OF ART!! HIDE IT THEY WOULD NEED......EXPOSURE TO ARTISTRY AND PHISICALITY ON THAT SCALE WOULD BURN THEIR TRANS SENSIBILITIES.

Thank for tha wonderful comparison. The sound clarity surprises me when I remember how long ago each tenor sang. My late Uncle Paul collected cylinder records by Caruso that snapped, crackled, and popped, if you will. My friend Paul played some similarly noisy CDs, too. But your recordings are much more enjoyable than the ones I described.

In spite of the recording limitations, the greatest female singer who ever lived to be recorded is Rosa Ponselle. No one can ever match that seamless, lush, glorious voice with technique and artistry to match. No one.

Magda Olivero ia amazing. And then Anita Cerqueti, Renata Tebaldi, Maria Callas, Virginia Zeani, Rosa Ponselle, Zinka Milanov and Leyla Gencer.

The most sensitive is Dame Nellie Melba! Very touching and expressive performance. She had very solid technique, it’s the result of correct schooling. (Thanks to Madame Mathilde Marchesi.)

La voce di Di Stefano la puoi riconoscere fra mille altre voci senza bisogno di titoli o immagini . Penso che sia quello che più dà la giusta drammaticità al brano, anche Del Monaco grande.
