It is important to clean a lot of the system if it had r12 in it. One guy that did ac told me you aint gotta change nothing on it just take out the freon and put refrigerant in it and itll work. They taught me ac and well and the science side of it and thats a big no no also to mix oils and refrigerant too. Pag and mineral oil if it does mix reacts horribly and makes a goo in the system. That will ruin it also if you do just charge it 134a doesn't move the oil as well if i remember right and that can run the compressor dry and also ruin it from lack of lubrication.

Well... For me im working on a 98 sonoma.. it is 134a but im replacing everything because now I don't trust it because the the compressor made a ton of racket and yeah the orfice tube did not look pretty. Wish me luck doing all of that to make it work again. Im actually gonna rip apart the compresor see what the heck happened.
@mikesworld60
@mikesworld60 Ай бұрын
I used the ester oil because it is compatible with mineral and pag oil. This way if I did not get all the mineral oil out of the system it would not cause problems. I replaced all the parts except the evaporator and the compressor since the system had been inoperable for years. Probably should have done the compressor at that time. It is still working good today. Good Luck.

@@mikesworld60 that.. that's the other oil I forget about where you can do that too I gotta flush mine now because of the racket mine made and the possible dirt or trash it has in it and it sent it through the system now. Bleh, annoying but yeh I also never knew actually how it was going to run too tho. The previous owner told me that the AC never worked and even he said the owner before him never fixed it either. So it's been like that without a charge for a WHILE I've been actually trying to ask people how theirs in their s10s or Sonomas with the 4 cylinder ac compressor sounds like. No one ever got back to me on that actually, sad. Tho I know they really shouldn't sound like a gun lol. But thanks I will need it for when everything comes in and I fix mine.

What was that exact tool that you used to cut the metal so easily? Does it require electricity or is it some kind of burning gas?
@mikesworld60

@@mikesworld60 If I am in an off grid situation, What exactly do I need to do "plasma cutting"? I got a loader bucket that is destroyed, I want to buy 2 foot by 4 foot sheet of 1/4 inch steel i want cut that sheet into pieces that reintegrate the bucket Then weld it SOLID that it can handle dirt work and the welds dont break Looks dont matter, perfection does not matter In order to make this happen, I need the plasma cutter and what kind of welding? The problem is off grid, I do not have grid power Can I use aceyteline torch to cut the sheet of steel, then use some kind of welder with a generator that would work for my application? My goal: do exactly what you did, but in an off grid situation
@mikesworld60
@mikesworld60 2 ай бұрын
I would probably just use a 4" or 4 1/2" right angle grinder and some cutoff wheels, be careful it is easy to get cut by these if your not careful. Always where safety glasses or a full-face shield when using the grinder. There are probably many KZfaq videos on how to use one. Harbor freight has the tool pretty cheap, and the discs also get some flap or grinding disc. The plasma cutter is pretty expensive I borrow one for my project. Plasma cutters also require a lot of power to run. I used a 110v wire feed welder that requires a 20-amp circuit to run. A generator will generally work for this but don't use an extension cord on the welder, plug it directly into the generator. I have other videos on my channel building a subframe for my backhoe. I use some of these tools on my Kubota videos.

What exactly did you use for the sides and top hookups
@mikesworld60
@mikesworld60 3 ай бұрын
The arms for the 3-point lift are connected to a Category 1 Drawbar that is in the concrete block. I just built the part that comes out of top of block with some steel I had available and drilled holes in it at top to hook the Top Link too. The drawbar and the steel for the Top Link are welded together inside the block and there is also rebar in the block for strength. And the tube for the hitch is also welded into the other steel parts in the block. This was all built inside a box to form the concrete and hold the parts in the proper location. Concrete was poured into the top of the form and then form removed after wards. The box was all screwed together and coated with diesel fuel so it would not stick to the concrete and then I unscrewed the box when it was dry. The forms can be put back together and used again.

So my question is , you can’t just throw in q new compressor that takes r134a? If you can’t what all has to be changed ?
@mikesworld60
@mikesworld60 3 ай бұрын
You can use the same type of compressor your vehicle came with. You need to use ester oil or pag oil for 134a. If the components had r12 and mineral oil in them, you want to empty all the oil from the components because it is mineral oil. The reason to use ester oil is because it is compatible with both oils if you don't get all the mineral oil out. If you use all new components then you can use pag oil.
