This reminds me so very much of my mom's dishes. She's long gone but watching you enjoy these simple dishes brings back so many wonderful memories. Thank you :) If you let the coriander/cilantro plant grows beyond what's typically sold at the stores, this is what you ended up with. Mom use to pick it even beyond this stage (with the seedpods already germinating) and make her spicy pepper dish, just like the one you had.

Man..... petai tree AND rambutan tree... absolute paradise. Long time displaced Indonesian in Canada here. Looks so good. Can only get them in meagre 100 - 200 gr frozen packets here, but still grateful. My mom used to mellow them in a stew / curry. Was so yummy! Problem is you sweat, pee, poop, toot stink bean aroma for the next 2 days. 😂🤣, worth it though. 🙃

I am growing an orange Cempedak plant which I bought as a seedling in November 2023,I am growing it in a greenhouse just north of Sydney (Newcastle) in Australia & it grew really fast (I bought it & it was 1 foot tall & by this winter in June it was 3 feet tall). While it's young I am giving it frost & cold protection but they will grow in zone 10b which is what the cold hardiness zone is at my location once they have matured a bit,if it's not the cold which will kill the seedlings it's either too much rain or too much sunlight during summer time, the seedlings need to be kept in a semi shaded area to prevent them from getting scorched during summer time. So I look forward to eating that Cempedak as well as the jackfruit that I am also growing, both plants are a bit over 1 metre tall, people grow jackfruit in Sydney so they will grow further north near Newcastle in New South Wales !

I just bought mangosteen at my local asian market, home grown, not imported, $10 dollars /pound, the worst, fruit I have ever had, it was sour, bitter. not worth $10/pound

Loved this place when I visited. The owner was equally friendly when I first visited and as I was leaving she asked me what my favourite Thai food was. I told her gaeng massaman or gaeng kee lek. The following day she had made gaeng kee lek and promised me some massaman the following day but sadly that was the day of my visit to Nan.

Been to Thailand already twice 1st time in Phuket in 2022 August 2nd time in Bangkokn Pattaya in 2023 September but dint n know this place existed. Going to Thailand 3rd time now in August 2024, will definitely visit this place this time. This is the best food I have ever seen in life. 3rd time itinery; Bangkok. , Chiang mai, Phuket and now added Patthalung.

What if everyone starts cutting this tree from forest, its wrong to cut such beautiful tree from forest entirely for food. I think its ok to grow this tree in Farm and then use it as food (Fish tail palm farming) . The fruits of these trees are food for wildlife, we are robbing their food.
