DO NOT recommend going for the first one as everytime I've tried I get killed by either leviathan or I don't realize my depth and by hull breaks. Unless you want to go through having to rebuild three subs like I did trying for this (and still not getting it) I wouldn't recommend the first one. Id recommend the ship and bring a radiation suit and a metal Lazer cutter.

I recommend going there with a prawn suit with a drill arm farm the ion cubes an then you can use the ion cubes to open the portal and go to the island where the sunbeam was supposed to save you
