Congratulations, Alexa! 🥳 Your growth and success are inspirational! We just started our channel this month and growth has been slow, but we are so glad we started. We've learned so much in the past 3 1/2 weeks by just starting that we would not have learned so quickly if we tried to learn it all and be "perfect" before starting. Thanks for sharing your journey, successes and struggles. 💚

Hi Alexa! Thank you for sharing your journey! Thanks to the work you've been doing, the KZfaq algorithm began sharing your videos with us when we started our channel this month, and we've made workout playlists with all of your KZfaq videos so we can learn from you and feed our brains while taking care of our bodies! This weekend I got to watch this video while I was working out stuck on my Peloton because I live in AZ and it's August. It was nice to live vicariously through you and forest bath in Norway! Thank you! 💚

This was very helpful Alexa... thanks for sharing. When building your channel, did you (and do you still) promote your KZfaq channel outside of KZfaq like on other social media platforms or websites or has your growth all been from organic reach only within the KZfaq platform itself?
@AlexaSaarenoja
@AlexaSaarenoja Сағат бұрын
I haven’t promoted it at all actually. I was a little embarrassed to say I was going for it on KZfaq to my network. So all organic. I recently updated my links on my linked in and Instagram but didn’t say anything about it. I’m waiting till I’m at 10k subs before I promote it…not sure why, but that’s how I feel at the moment. 😅💜

@@AlexaSaarenoja That's fantastic growth given it was all organic. As far as the reaching 10K subs first before announcing goes, I completely get where you're coming from. Keeping doing your thing... very inspiring.

Hi Alexa, the sound in the beginning of your video is better but not perfect yet. It has to do with 3 things. The first one you already understood and that is the echo that you are dealing with. This is a bigger room and you are probable recording it close to the couch. What is even probably more important is the distance between you and the microphone. This Blue Yeti is a microphone that is meant to be used very close to your mouth. A few inches away would be perfect. I understand that you want the microphone out of frame but since I noticed this time that the tip of your microphone is in frame, I think this time the microphone was slightly closer to your mouth. The most important thing I discovered when you showed your microphone. You are actually talking in the back of the microphone. You should point the mute button and the microphone volume knob towards you. You should not talk in the top of the microphone but you should talk in the front of the microphone. That means that the microphone should be angled slightly backwards. So if the logo would be a mirror, you should be able to see yourself. Then at the back of the microphone there is pickup patern selector and a gain knob. If the gain is good then don't change it. In your recording it should piek somewhen just in the yellow. Then the pickup pattern should be placed to the kidney shape (3rd selection). This means it pickes up the sound in front of the microphone (where the logo is facing). This should really improve your audio. I hope this helps.
@AlexaSaarenoja
@AlexaSaarenoja 11 сағат бұрын
Umm I love you! 💜💜💜🤗 Do you know how many times I tried to figure out which selector knob option to choose and which way is the front of the mic! 😅😂 I’ve been using practically ever iotiinbut the kidney shaped one! 🤣 I’m excited to try the adjustments. I was afraid of speaking to close to the mic because once I did she it picked up all the p and s sounds quite noticeably. But anyway thank you thank you thank you 🙏🙌💜😊

@annoholics Сағат бұрын
@@AlexaSaarenoja You can use the gain knob to lower the volume of your sound so it does not clip. Clipping is when the sound is to loud. Then the top of the sound is cut of, which gives a very weird and awful distorted sound. In the Bleu Yeti there are actually 3 microphone capsules. This gives the option to record in stereo, which I don't recommend, then there is the option to place the microphone between two people for an interview. then the microphone at the back and the front is activated. There is also an option to record in all directions. This is when there are several people around a table and you want to record in all directions. The cardioid pickup patern (kidney or hart shape) is the option you should use. It records just from the front of the microphone, which you want because then there is the least amount of echo coming into the microphone. If it is really important for you to keep the microphone out of the frame you should use a shotgun microphone or another type of boom microphone with a hyper cardioid pickup pattern. You don't really have to hide your face behind the microphone but I would put the microphone slightly below your face but probably still a little bit in frame. Especially when you wear black or dark clothes it hardly stands out. For the P sounds there is an option to use a pop filter. this is a fabriq screen that can be mounted in front of the microphone. A pop filter is however sort of big and is clearly visible in your frame. You can slightly remove the popping sound by placing the microphone to the side and aiming the front of the mic (where the logo is) to your chest. Bij placing the microfoon to the side you are not talking directly into the microphone but the microphone is still aimed at the source of the sound. For the S sounds there is an option to filter that in the editing software. It is called a De-esser. Because the sharp ess sound is usualy one frequentie you can lower that frequentie in either an equaliser or a de-esser. So that is done in post production. You have to look for the frequency that gives this high ess sound and cancel that out.

Hi Alexa, I continue to love your content and found myself waiting eagerly for your latest creation. With regards to the light and sound quality in your videos, first and foremost I simply love that you “Just do it” with no muss and no fuss. It’s exactly the message you are teaching through your channel. I’ve been able to clearly understand every word in your videos. For me it helps to work ahead. I Make sure that I can do the work that I want to do in roughly 66% of the time that I am going to schedule for that work. So, if I want to release 1 video every week. That means for me that i should be able to make 3 videos in 2 weeks. That means that I can stay consistent, and I can make a buffer of videos. That way I don't have to stress out if I get e.g. a water leak or something else unexpected happens. This way I can also play a little bit with the time I need for a video. Some videos take more time to make then other videos. If I would plan the bare minimum amount of time I need for a video and I don't work ahead, then I will never be able to make video's that take more time to make. I also schedule at least an hour of my day to learn new things. If I don't take the time to learn new things then I don't progress and if you don't progress, then you will no longer stay relevant because the rest of the world is progressing.
