Looks like a great little machine. You can’t beat those manual choke machines for reliability. We have trailblazer 325 EFIs and a couple bobcat 260s. The trailblazers have had some issues and the bobcat 260 has the electric choke carbs. Not a fan. Mine was brand new and cranked way too much before firing. There’s one bobcat 250 manual choke in the fleet. That machine has been flawless.

Will this unit handle 1/4" aluminum?

I like all the fancy stuff but most welders never look at setting. Most welders dial in a rough setting and test weld and then we just bump the wire speed of voltage nob a bit and the fancy digital we would not look at and would just bump it. Stay away form welders with button adjustments as its a pain in the ass to not just bump a knob.

This hood is the best welding hood I’ve ever used and I I’ve them all.. This helmet is so well balanced and comfortable!! And I have both this the pano, speedglas g5-01 and g5-02

Can you run a different torch on that machine? I hate the button because it forces you to hold the torch in a certain way. It would be better to use scratch start.

Just came up on your channel and I’m actually buying a new trailblazer 330, you mentioned that it’ll run the spool gun for aluminum? And you also mentioned that there’s no need for the????? What was it that it doesn’t need?? Because I have the inline box that is to operate the spool gun. Do I need to remove that box? In order to use it on this new unit?? Anyway I hope I’m making sense 🤔? Thanks for your video it comes at the perfect time 🤙🏼 I think it’s the miller WC-24 control box ?🤔.

Just watched this. Leaving my Optrel Helix CLT for this Esab A60. Optrel manuel mode only goes down to shade 7, can't use a cutting torch with it. On automatic it goes down to shade 4, but it kept changing from light to dark, THAT WILL NOT WORK. Also the headgear has already worn to where it will not stay up, PISSES ME OFF. Finally, the viewing design is extremely annoying. The cut out for your nose is the problem. Example: take 1 finger and slowly put it up to your face, YOU SEE DOUBLE, IT SUCKS. I have been welding for 32 yrs. Don't waste your money on Optrel.

I’ve owned this machine for 6+ years now. Cutting 3/16” and below steel it does pretty good. With 1/4” steel or above don’t bother. Use a torch. Also the compressor has a hard time keep max output air pressure past 6 inches. You’ll have to slow way down, or stop, then start back up. That’s using 220volt.The compressor in mine died after 3.5 years. It would have cost $1,100 to fix it. I did it myself by putting in the same exact truck air bag compressor that it uses. Would I buy it again? Probably not. Don’t get me wrong, the portability concept was amazing. But your better off buying a dedicated plasma machine and a little portable air compressor.

Can a genmax 7250 run this fine ? For stick and mig ? Its running watts are 6000 ? And its an invetor genrator

My major concern about the Optrel CLT hoods which has held me back from buying one, is the Permanent non replaceable batteries that last only 300 to 500 cycles. They also Use a Micro USB to charge which are a notoriously flimsy connection, I'd expect USB C from an industrial product. There are a lot of people who have a dead helmet after 2 years, but even if it's 3 or 4 years with the last year charging your hood all the time because your battery barly holds a charge this is just a bad experience I know people that this exact situation happened to. after 3 years they ended up having to switch back to their 10 Year old Speedglas Bad experience for the welder. When i went looking for pricing on a replacement ADF cartridge thats not even available as a spare part so you have to buy an entirely new hood WHEN the battery dies because it will die. You might put big hours 8 hours a day under the hood good luck getting past 18 months. Maybe you only weld 1 hour a day you better be paranoid about charging not just charging to top but waiting for it to get to a low state before using one of your "Charge Cycle" Just Two terrible decesions that turn a definite buy into I think ill pass. Which is a pity because they do provide great vision, but reliability and keeping your hood operational are just as important. What do you do if your batteries die midday, with a Speedglas or anyother hood you swap batteries. If you have had this hood for 2 years and your now spending as much time charging as you are underthe hood welding no doubt using a backhood. What welder is going to want to pay a premium for that.

Vulcan outlaw or this is my question. Slightly more power on vulcan but don't need that much normally. Esab is suppose to be made extremely well so might last longer idk... hard choice. Thought about older trailblazers for 1.2k ish but they always look rough around here
