Sometimes Frank was so bitter and mean in lyrics and in interviews that I find him joyless and his music much less interesting. He made a lot of excellent points over the years however.

The Howard Stern of music. Life, seen through the eyes of a horny 12-year-old. Musically brilliant, but 500 albums of the musical equivalent of fart jokes got old after awhile.

Most of Eastwood's stuff is unwatchable today. Even the Dirty Harry stuff is hopelessly sophomoric. He got so many opportunities and he scored with Unforgiven . But the screenplay was great and he didn't write it.
@WillyBluefield12 күн бұрын
I have a story about 'Unforgiven.' I knew Dave Peoples long before he became well known--we both lived in Berkeley in the 1970s--and he began writing the screenplay in his basement in 1975. Interestingly enough, the original title of Unforgiven was "The Cut Whore Killings," although Clint wisely changed it. However, Dave said he only made a couple of very small alterations to the script itself, and I have an original copy of the screenplay and it's true, scene by scene, line by line. I think Clint knew when not to mess with near-perfect storyline and dialogue. Dave told me Clint bought the screenplay rights about decade before he made the movie, because he wanted to play the lead role as an older man, and Dave also said Clint was a great guy who treated him more than fairly in the business end of the deal. That's my story, hope you enjoyed it.

I heard he was a really great guitar player . Alice Cooper told a story on his now gone radio show about how Frank had some guitar playing competition against some fan at a concert of his and Frank easily beat this nobody .

I always liked Zappa and the Mothers of Invention. Even more so when he appeared before the PMRC Senate hearing as did Dee Snyder and John Denver to basically and very respectfully tell the PRMC how effed up they were. "It's unclear which popular musicians were invited, but the only ones to show up and tell the government this was none of their business were Zappa, Snider, and Denver." - Business Insider. They made a big mistake. Zappa and Snyder mopped the floor with them. Sure the PRMC got the warning labels they wanted, only to have that backfire as fans saw the "warning" label as incentive to purchase material the suits said were dirty. The artists didn't mind at all, all the way to the bank.
