its very unfortunate, but pickpockets are found in different countries,...as a matter if fact Rome, London, Madrid n other cities in Europe are notorious for pickpockets...always just be careful especially in crowded areas....

Not a lot of details , like were you around foreigners ? I witnessed a pickpocket steal someone's wallet and at the same time a local witnessed it. They arrested the foreigner , Russia. So really be extra careful around foreigners. The other 5 cons I have been witness too , were done by Americans. Get cargo pants with a zipped front pocket with a flap that you can add Velcro. On the inside of the pocket you can add a small loop and even clip your wallet to that.

Highly likely! They keep on talking in the entire video of the incident but they never showed a copy of the police report. Normaly, when you report an incident in any police stations in the Philippines, you will be given a copy of the report. 🤣🤣🤣

NEVER RELY ON A ZIPPER! Use a velcro closure on your bag. It can't be opened without you noticing it. I also have my wallet tethered with a chain. It is both a visual and physical deterrent.

Foreign vloggers in the Philippines do something on purpose so they will have something to talk about in their vlog. Pickpocketing happens even on the bus in London, Paris, New York, and anywhere. Don't make it a big deal.

that bag is worthless, copy the phillipinos bags, and how they do it..they KNOW. a sling/messenger bag on the chest is the best..and looks good too never carry a wallet or creditcards with you unless u are going to atm and go direcly back to your condo/hotel after withdrawal and leave plastic there, take only cash amount u gonna spend And did u say u lost 500usd? hahaha thats 28700 peso a amount no normal expat will carry in Philippines unless u going to buy a scooter or something..... sounds like the usual expat insurance scam there..sure there wasent a 2000usd goldchain in the bag too?=)

It was learning a experience for us...and you're right we are not normal expats but the thieves can keep the cash and hopefully it will get them revelation in the future....were traders and made all back in the market we don't need any insurance scams

my wife, who was my girlfriend back then, grabbed a student that was being preyed upon by 5 pickpockets taking turns opening her bag in Quiapo. She was also a student back then. She told the student that those people are trying to get your wallet, come with me.

Dont feel like a lone wolf coz you're not alone.. pickpockets are all over the world now.. All you have to do is never put or place your wallet or purse behind your pocket at your jeans or pants.. coz its easy for pickpockets to steal your wallet.. always bring a bag pack and put it inside your bag so you'll never lose your wallet or purse.. it works for me when i was there in Philippines years ago..
