Hello Very nice video, everything really clean, and safe ! I see you are using half molds ( molds costs, as you said on other video, ok with that ). Is there a lot of work to make both halves joined ? If you had both halves, do you think the trailing edge would fill ? and how would you fill the mold, center, leading edge, trailing edge ? What is your feeling about plaster or refractory concrete, fire cement ? used in the same way, being warmed at correct temperature before pouring molted lead. Very nice and interresting video, and yes, I should have read the build thread on rxgroup ! ! ! You are realy inspirationnal, thank you .

I don’t sell the molds, but you can use the free files I have linked to in the description to make your own molds or have them made.

Out of curiosity why didn't you make a 2 part mold?

This is just a test of the machining setup. I didn’t actually need a bulb this size. I made a larger version for a US1M boat that I did use and it is much larger. The larger piece of aluminum was pretty expensive, so I saved half the cost. Also, my machine is a CNC router, not a metal mill, so I saved half the wear and tear on my machine. I only made a few halves for myself, so I did not need anything more complex than this. I do plan on doing a more complex 2-part mold for IOM bulbs in the future.

@@ukktor do you need parts milled? I have a CNC mill. How do you attach the keel to the ballast and how do you attach the keel to the hull?

Nice job. Love to see people making neat stuff like this. I like the idea of larger front tire and long wheel base to improve stability at speed. Have you tried to incorporate a seatpost for sitting position. Also, would it help to mount the battery lower, like under the footplate (I guess you risk ground contact though). Thanks for sharing.

It's a year later and it works like a charm. It can use two frozen one gallon apple juice container a day during the first day or two of a strong fermentation. Then it settles down to one change a day and eventually can go 3 or more days. I keep three gallon jugs in rotation. One in the chiller, one frozen in the freezer, one in the freezer on its way to freezing. It can take a day to refreeze fully, so I change the bottles before they fully thaw for a quick refreeze. Takes fifteen seconds to change out!

You have to start with the knob on full power and then adjust the speed to get the proper grind RPMs. It takes about half a second and became a non-issue. I am using a torquey-low speed 1/2" drill as well. It works so well, it's kind of sad, because I don't have to put it in use for very long! :)

If a company like kickbike can mass produce hundreds of kits for a certain price, what makes you think that I can make a one-off, totally unique one just for you, yet stay cheaper? Good Luck with that! I made this scooter on my time, for my fun and entertainment. This machine is priceless, there isn't enough money in the world to buy it.

I don't know man, I've just done the same and mine was pretty shit. The drill felt nervous and it will stall while power is running through, or sometimes it wont pick up so I need to speed up the voltage then back off again as it doesnt have juice to turn. I have feeling this is not very useful if you want to slow it down massively which is what I'm after. There wasn't very good consistency in the power delivery. Maybe I need a speed controller

build one. ive done did all the pricing, you can find 20 inch kick scooters for anywhere from 200 to 400 dollars, and a front hub motor kit around the 200-300 dollar range.

Hello! I just modded my kick scooter with an electric setup (geared hub / 36v / 22amp controller). My mount is on the rear tire and I am wondering if that's preventing me from hitting decent speeds. Right now I am 15-20 mph. I would like to be closer to 30. Is yours a 36v battery?
