Recently, I became very disillusioned, when. I learned that HST and his lawyer friend really did open the Weekending Vegas, but they only used alcohol, marijuana, and Dexedrine, and not any of the other stuff. It can be so disappointing when you learn the truth about the heroes of your youth.

Through war and life, I’ve lived one quote more than any…, “When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro.” Hunter owns the quote. But fortunate ones get to share a Guinness and some fine waves and feel grateful for living HT’s words…without forgetting the adventures through all the chemicals😎🏄♀️🕉

Such an over rated hack. Though highly weaponized. Yeah. Groovy man. Not like I am unfamiliar with the main aspect of his legend....re psychedelics. He was an over the top operator, vastly over rated, though he found the right time of man. Time was I think I had the first 15 or 20 pages of Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas memorized. I do like the idea of having to dodge from imaginary desert bats. Or even severing the boys head had its amusements, he was such a hopeful lad on his first convertible ride. And at least in the last movie of this they got the carpet right. But finally psychedelics are potentially such an effective tool. Hunter Thompson did much to bring them discredit.

Thomson waved a big flag about mendacious, corrupt & self-serving politicians killing the US. He's avoided a lot of misery by topping himself in 2005.

What everyone misses about Thompson (since no one reads him; they’re “inspired” by him) is that drugs ruined his writing. He was better when he mostly stuck to alcohol and weed. When he graduated to massive quantities of coke, acid, dope, speed, it was over . Fear and loathing was GOOD not even great. His writing had already greatly suffered and had no value shortly after

Funniest place to imagine HST was...was when he was at the Barry Goldwater selection of Republican nominee. He knew someone in Pinkerton Security as a friend, and got FULL ACESS. All of this not too long after JFK's Assassination. I love though how he, and Nixon shared Mr. Dick's limo, & spoke, but had to ONLY TALK FOOTBALL. I would've asked Nixon if he was aware of the Native Americans Influence in the game..it's actually quite important. + @ 40:07 :p LOLAnd as a special mention to those interested like me whom are reading & want a drink that supports USA troops and is historical & those who like damn fine Irish whiskey i'm not being paid but paying to have a damn fine liquor= The Fighting 69th Regiment: Irish Whiskey. Especially & ironically during this St. Patrick's time of the year. I AGAIN PROMISE THIS IS Not for profit {No Ad} just a tip to like minded enthusiasts. Know it, or don't, but honestly / truly I'm damn glad I do. It's a good liquor, though also I know of "Flying Dog" which uses Ralph Steadman's Art & was of transcendent taste of normal drinks also...just it's not as available as it used to be in southern states.
