Is this song a cover of a jazz standard or some like that?

From the djangobooks blog: "L’Emigrant is a popular flamenco standard which Bousquet interprets in the neo-flamenco style of the Gitan."

Great done ! Good impro ! Could you please tell me the way you edited the vodeo and audio? That vintage style stuff makes it the 110%! Cool !

Thank you! Sure, for video i used the front cam from my phone, which already is grainy in a low light setting like this. Then i used some stock plugins from the freeware video editing software Shotcut, like a Sepia LUT, brightness correction, a vignette, "projector simulation" with changing brightness and some dust particles. For the audio i recorded with a normal condenser mic and then applied slight compression and impulse response from an old RCA ribbon mic, heavy low and high frequencies EQ cuts and saturation overdrive (which also had some tape wobble effect built in). Hope that helps!

Great tone man! I tried a Filtertron in my Les Paul aswell, but cant get that jangly spank you had goin on. Aprox what pickup height do have in the clip? And are the pole pieces raised or flat? Cheers!

I just tried different vintage mics from this site and went by ear which suits my own recording chain best for the closest approximation to Djangos tone: micirp.blogspot.com/?m=1

I think the tone is very accurate, but you are playing too hard on thin strings, so they go out of tune when you hit them. Try hitting softer or changing the gauge of the strings. Awesome tone by the way!
@A.Lautner
@A.Lautner 8 ай бұрын
Thank you! Yes, good point. I'm sure Malcolm beat the strings quite hard at times but you are right, he used way thicker gauge than I did in that video.
