Did you make these sculptures? Is this a bronze sculpture?

No I'm only the filmmaker! It's a film about the making of sculpture, bronze sculpture. I think you will benefit more of the English version of the film: The Making of Sculpture: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/Z6mSgc16sMDUpYU.html

Few questions - what happened to the original, where is the original head, can't laser cutters now do even fine detailing like the hair?
@CarlsenJohnny
@CarlsenJohnny 5 жыл бұрын
The original head was lost due to hard handling and negligence when the sculpture was stored away. I don't know if laser goes with marble?

Modern times: Saving time = saving money. In the "good ol' days" you had six different stone masons to carve a sculpture: Course mason to artist mason. The one who starts with the stone is called a smodolatore in Italian and the one who finish the sculpture is called artisto. The ones in between do a finer and finer job til the end. It's only the rich who can afford the job done by hand now a days. The machine do the four first mason steps. The last two touch of human is done by hand.

The amount of hand/tool carving of marble AFTER it had been robotically carved seemed to be quite a bit considering how precise the face was. Wonder why that was? Was the programming leaving gaps?

I didn't know it was drilled with a machine. Is it just too difficult to carve by hand now or not financially worth the time it takes?

I can testify to the amazing quality of Martin's work. I met Martin 10 years ago in Italy and was stunned by his craftsmanship. He has created some incredible pieces but he is too modest to shout about it. You should take a look at his portfolio www.martinfoot.com/ for more examples.

Do we dare happiness? When to do and when to not? Children laughing Intoxicating No one gets by untouched Here’s the short we send to 60Seconds Film Festival. 60seconds is a Short Film Festival showing short films in public spaces in Copenhagen and is the only of its kind where both silent film, film length and public space projections is an important part of the festival concept. The official theme for this year's festival was "Close Up", so all the films had to be silent, shot in close up and with a length of exactly 60 seconds. Enjoy :) #carlsenfilm

I already commented on no film school but had to say it again. Great documentary and you now have another subscriber who looks forward to more of your work Carlsen. The cinematography was excellent and the story telling was excellent as well this should be on TV if it hasn't made it there already. Has it been televised yet? Or if not has anyone been interested? If not please let me know I would certainly be willing to contact our public TV station here in the Houston Texas area and tell them they should jump on it. I enjoyed this as much as anything I have seen on TV and thank you again for making this documentary. Gary Simmons Galveston Texas.
