@@McGieHomesteadAdventures You know what I mean. I’ve only seen steel or some other type of wooden or manufactured header. Never a reinforced pour inside concrete block. It should serve your off grid purpose fine. On the grid, I’m almost certain it wouldn’t pass building code.

I've been doing it since I was a kid, they won't hurt you unless you squeeze them. I'm just giving you a hard time. But you can touch them and pick them up without getting hurt.
