How long will the silicone cure particularly dragon skin platinum 10? After applying it to the mold. And how do u paint this because silicone is a tricky surface to paint on.

Bardzo się cieszę, że nagrywasz filmiki po polsku, ponieważ wiele "polskich syrenek" prowadzi swoje kanały po angielsku z racji większego popytu na tego typu tematy za granicą :/

To paint your tail did you just mix dragon skin silicone with paint thinner? How exactly did you mix it if only silicone will stick to silicone?

Is there a particular reason why you do the coiling and then fill in the base? From what i've seen, most people make the base and then add the coiling.

Hey! Awesome tail! How did you get your pigments stay on the silicone? Or how did you paint it? :)
@selinanachtmann27055 жыл бұрын
she mixed mica powders with silicone and toluene. for airbrushing 2 parts of silicone and 4 of toluene and for painting with a brush 2 parts of silicone and 2 parts of toluene. silicone is only sticking to silicone. when using silicone as a base for the pigment it will stick to the tail, the toluene is for thinning it down so the pigmented silicone can be used as paint.
@sophiecarrerras23686 жыл бұрын
hello ! What is toluene please ? It's diluent for paint ?

Is It like modeling clay? But the industrial one, that never hardens? Isn't It deformed by the weight of the plaster? Plz someone answer these questions, It could be very usefull for me. x'D And your work is really beautiful
@99flutter6 жыл бұрын
chirou22hi1 It's called plasticine, the one I see used most often is Del Milano sulfur-free plasticine modeling clay. I haven't seen a mertailor use any other kind so I guess it supports itself.

dragon skin silicone is not very cheap but when you order one you are not only paying for the materials but also for the time the makers have to invest for making a tail. since the working time will be done by yourself it is cheaper! i've also seen tutorials where they used other types of silicone but dragon skin is by far the best for such a project. but silicone is i guess the most expensive material. Foam rubber, plaster and clay are chepaer. I roughly calculated how much i will need for making a tail and i guess it will be about 400-700€ but it depends on the type of silicone and the pigments you use.

Mam pytanie : co to znaczy że "wchodzi w reakcje"?
@syrenkaznadwisymermaidpogo77597 жыл бұрын
newshoesfromnet Płynny silikon reaguje z wieloma czynnikami, np siarką, gumą, lateksem i w wyniku tego nie zastyga nigdy tylko pozostaje płynny albo nie całkiem związany

So thankful for a tutorial on this! But I am curious on how you attached the fins, the tail to the fluke, and also how you made the tail go together so seamlessly! It's beautiful and id love to know.
