I just stumbled across your channel. I realize this was filmed 3 years ago. I am in the process of building out my own 14’ Aluminum boat . I also have a boat made in French Settlement which is a Cajun Special 1986 which I believe were bought out by Delhi ( not sure) My motor is a 1978 7.5 Mercury with a 9.8 carburetor which I had everything gone through it . Anyway, yeah it’s a project in the works & just wanted you to know, I especially found your video content & ideas very informative, helpful & thought out. Agree with a 14’ is small enough & fits my needs on the river mostly stationary fishing, limb lines, trot lines, maybe a couple traps & tight lining with little casting etc. Tour ideas of each item having its place & tour retrofitting is to be commended! I’m in Louisiana around the Madisonville area Northshore so we have many options of rivers . Again , your ideas are great & I will be incorporating some into my project. Hopefully, mine will be half as good as yours . Thanks again, hope you get this message from a video that stood the test of time after 3 years! I subscribed to your channel of course & will be checking out your other videos. Thanks again & God Bless 🙏 happy fishing 🎣

I’ve owned five 10 gauges and am down to two. My gold turkey edition recoils less than my 3” light beretta turkey loads. People use recoil as an excuse as not be able to afford one imo. When opened hear it recoils less then they use the extra 2 pounds as heavy…lol. Always an excuse. I’ve taken birds 20 yards farther than mine than what you have talked about without issue. Just need the correct choke and ammo to get the pattern to hold up at long distance. I’ve taken coyotes, bobcats, fox, and deer with mine as well.

Most 10 gauge shells are Downloaded. Another word's You are basically. Buying a low brass hard to find a10 gauge. 3 1/2 That will surpass the 12 gauge 3 1/2. Before the 12 gauge 3 1/2 inch. The 10 ga was the big boy so, they could download it. Now with the 12 ga Equalizing The ten 10 ga The cartridge manufacturers needs. To start charging them back up to where they should be instead of ripping off the consumer.

I think it’s important to explain, that bullets don’t actually rise when they come out of the barrel if the gun is horizontal to the earth. Only reason they rise is because to compensate for bullet drop, the end of the barrel is slightly elevated. Exactly like a water hose, hold it horizontally and the water immediately begins to drop, arch the water up and it will travel farther but in an arching angle.

I'm missing my left hand hurt in accident in 84 I started hunting with 10 gauge in its second hayday 1989 of the 10 gauge 3 1/2 like you stated as novelty ,grew to love it .Taking long shots fox squirrel hunting and I took 3 deer out with it ,2 were 8 points one at 65 yrds.It also was my go to coyote gun my two were 1st 30 inch barrel N.E.F., and my second a N.E.F.24 ,barrel choke tubes mossy oak . The kick was nothing compared to the prize of downing at distance what ever I was locked on too.

I'd rather shoot a 10 3.5" over a 12 3.5" any day of the week. Less chamber pressure equals not quite as sharp recoil. I miss my 10. Getting a new one soon though.

There is nothing you’ve done here that I don’t like.. I’m gonna be in the market myself soon for a 14/16’ jon boat myself, but want the 48” over the 36” wide boat. Everything serves it’s purpose and more. Keep it simple stupid. Great ideas all the way around, even the rubber floor mats, instead of the plywood route.

I have an Armsport 2700 O/U 10 gauge. It weighs about 9.75 pounds. 32" barrels - full choke - raybar front sight. Used to use it for geese pre-steel shot. I found my 12 gauge Browning BPS 3" kicks about the same as the Armsport 3 1/2 10 gauge load. The biggest thing I see is the concussion and muzzle blast. Shoot a 10 gauge about 4-5 times without hearing protection is about the same as sitting front row at an AC/DC concert.

@10gaugeoutdoors18

It looks like monster rod holders Don't offer that holder anymore. The front mounting bases are monster Jon boat bases. The mounts by the batteries are mounted through the ore brackets with a stainless bolt through the bottom with an all thread cupling on top. That gives my a way to screw in the rod holders.
