Agreed! I haven't played the original Crash 2 in a LONG time but I remember the Warp Room music in that sounding like an incomplete rough mix. This sound version sounds fully fleshed out and it's great!

I really don’t even think that one part is a problem at all. It’s very tastefully executed imo. The guitar probably sounded too cheesy when they tried it in this newly arranged version. The phat ass bass synth in the early parts of the song more than makes up for it, I’ll tell ya what.

This remade track is a mixed one for me. On the one hand I feel the instrument (flute?) used for the main melody feels too light and airy, giving a very carefree lighthearted 'frolicking in the fields' sort-of vibe. Which does not fit the warp room. It's a subtle difference from the original in terms of actual musical performance but has a huge impact on the atmosphere. I feel this version's flute is too soft and the notes are held for too long. The original sounded harsher and more techno, and the end of each note sounded like a harsh ring or echo, rather than a soft fade. The harsher stuff fits the atmosphere better. It almost feels like the track was recreated using only the original track as a reference without any knowledge of the atmosphere it was supposed to be conveying. On the other hand, the section at 0:34 is MASSIVE improvement, the way all the instruments come in and just completely overtake the rest of the track. It's loud, it's boisterous, and sounds like something you'd hear on a Crash Team Racing track. It's only too bad it comes later in the track and doesn't last very long.

If that one part kills the whole thing for you, you’re ridiculous. I grew up with the OG versions just like anyone else, and this remastered soundtrack right here _smokes_ the original. Absolutely murders it. The absence of a cheesy guitar riff doesn’t ruin that, my dude.
