Is one side of film equal to 1 wind of the wind arm? Is there any audio with this ?
@FilmPhotographyProject2 күн бұрын
About 30 seconds per wind. Modern Double 8, Super 8 and 16mm does not record sound.

the tv station where I've been volunteering has one of these as a decoration in one of their podcast rooms- and I figured out that there was an unexposed roll of film in it, and they let me have it to get it developed. however, my results weren't great: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/d7xzgsJqqKnWeok.html

Any suggestions on what chemicals to use for Super 8 MM color reversal?
Apparently there was some confusion on the M state abbreviations. So.... MA is Massachusetts. MD is Maryland. ME is Maine. MI is Michigan. MN is Minnesota. MO is Missouri. MS is Mississippi. MT is Montana.

Having bought a Duaflex II a couple months ago, i'd love to know how he modified it to take 120 film.
@aengusmacnaughton13753 күн бұрын
Yep -- me too -- have all Duaflex models and I can only fit real 620 spools, barely the FPP 3D-printed 620 spools (they are a tad thicker than the original metal ones) -- even a 'chopped down' plastic 120 spool is a tight fit and can jam....

HELP!!!Is bolex c8 better than quartz m? Can you pull focus on the quartz m soviet 8mm camera since I don't see any focus ring and the lens is inside the camera? I'm gonna buy an 8mm cam so I am confused
@joshcrosby6345 күн бұрын
I’m lucky enough to have one with a fully working “electric eye”. They are great for regular 8mm point-and-shoot movies, and being able to switch to the second side without finding shade is a nice convenience!

Super 8 is silent. Sound can be added when digitally editing your reel.

Hey, I just got an X-15 and am trying to find the electric alternative flash you suggested but I'm having a hard time finding it. Any recommendations on where to look or how to find it? Currently what I get when I try to research it is the Nissin i40

If you have the standard (blue) X-15 that takes the MagiCube - look for (on eBay) The Kalimar STROBE-X electronic flash. It was made for the X-15, X-25, X35, X-45!

I recently came into possession of my families old Brownie II Movie Camera. I believe there is still film in it, is this film no longer able to be developed anywhere? I don’t want to open the compartment and ruin any film if it still can be processed.
@FilmPhotographyProject13 күн бұрын
Watch the video on how to handle the film. The film is vintage Kodachrome and can no longer be developed as color. You can contact Spectra Film & Video CA regarding processing and scanning.

I really do enjoy watching "old" KZfaq, the way how podcasting works this video was ahead of his time. Anyways I came across this video because I read that 828 cameras can shoot unperforated 35 mm film and these can bought on eBay for low prices. I'm also curious to know how much the max versatility film sold for back then.

Fantastic - I purchased several rolls in hopes of using it with my Minolta Autopak 700. It works great with a reused old cartridge - Does NOT with the FakMatic. Great job keep it up.
@FilmPhotographyProject13 күн бұрын
Depends on the make/model camera and where the "pin" is located in your camera. I've been using the new FPP film with the Fakmatic with no issues. Happy you were able to get it working with vintage cartridges. - Mike

I have some Super 8 films. I did not as a kid. I did, however, watch a digest of Laurel & Hardy's Babes in the Woods in this format, when I was about 5. It started a life long love for those comedians. A few years later, I saw Pinchcliffe Grand Prix at a birthday party. I have been fascinated with projected celluloid film ever since.

I have a bell and howell one nine that does not show the ISO numbers on the dial, but everything else looks the same. If I line up the iso the same way you did with the "40 ISO" setting and the correct aperture, should I expect to get the same result? Should I just try an app instead? Brand new into 8mm
@FilmPhotographyProject18 күн бұрын
With 40 ISO film, set the aperture to the smallest opening and shoot in daylight.

Hey! Just got one of these at a yard sale, pretty dingy and can't get the battery compartment to open. Is it supposed to just be pulled open or is there a button or latch? Is there a method I can use to get it open? Thanks! There aren't a lot of videos I could find about this model, so you have been a lifesaver!
