This is in Iowa. If you want crappie got to pot holes reservoire. Mardon resort has a pier you can fish for $5. It's easy to get a limit in a few hours after dark.

Fishing for anything at a marina is is great, but throw it back. Marinas environs include raw sewage, oil and gasoline pollutants. STARRY FLOUNDER is a bottom feeder. All pollutants eventually end up on the sea floor.

great vid, but question for you, how did you attach the 8 ball steering to the kayak track? can you do a vid on that as I want to replace mine cause its garbage! I'm just waiting for it to snap off. also you had any issues with track strength? the track on my angler seems very "flex" .

@PeelingLine

It did for sure but not sure if it is as significant of an upgrade compared to the steering. The cables should be fine through the stock holes but I just drilled 2 right behind the steering and filled with marine silicone.

Pt Defiance is a great place to fish off the shore. Do it just as the tide changes (slack tide), preferably from low to incoming tide. The land drops off almost straight down and the currents will allow you to cast out into deeper water. When the tide is roaring you may be able to catch surface fish feeding. Be careful as its slippery out there and if you fall in you had better be wearing a life preserver.
@PeelingLine

Clamming is super easy, and there's millions of Varnish, which most people do not eat, but fish will, they're also considered invasive, so using them is helping Washington (in a sense). A "fish Washington license" includes Clamming w/ your Fresh, Salt + 2 pole, so it doesn't even require another license. Highly recommend.

Pretty cool but I’ve heard holding a fish by the tail to lift out of the water can mess them up as it can separate their vertebrae. It was a big no no when I sold salmon to lift the fish by the tail and did cause spinal bleeding into the meat. Sharks may be tougher than salmon of course and I know they are challenging to hold as they are so squirmy with a biting mouth.
@PeelingLine
@PeelingLine 23 күн бұрын
Thank-you. They definitely are tougher than salmon. They also have cartilaginous spines which are more flexible. I think if we were damaging their vertebrae we would see it when they were swimming away and a bunch would be washing ashore from internal bleeding.
