Also whole tomatoes out of a can should be superficially more perfect than diced or pureed. You can cut around infections if there's a blender around with diced or puree. Not with peeled whole

This is similar to a “shrimp dip” my grandmother used to make just replace the noodles with shrimp boiled in Cajun shrimp boil and chop in to small pieces. Although I bet the shrimp would be a great addition to your recipe.

Excellent take on this classic! But: you're going out on a limb at 0:07. The *e* in aglio e olio is pronounced as it is in echo, not as it is in eel. You should be able to pronounce it properly ;)

Ha ha ha you were so diplomatic with your description of how the Italians stole this recipe. It is akin to the pasta story. Pasta is not Italian - it is an Asian thing😅 we know so

Sometimes when I watched the videos you seemed a bit, I dunno. A sweaty animated guy who leans weirdly towards the camera. Nah, I trust you. You're safe, fella.

Love these - Only things I do different is a blend of equal parts pepper, onion powder, garlic powder & salt. Sliders are always crowd pleasers, great video as always Steve

Great video. Respectfully, clean hands are as good as nitrile gloves and paper can sub for plastic on the scale. Less plastic waste overall.

Does the size of the pot matter? I tried this same amount of rice in a smaller pot and had a lot of water left over

Thank you so much for the recipe! This is one of the best recipes i've ever tried alongside Aglio e olio and the only and the best carbonara. Greetings from Moscow. Hope we all get better soon.

Going to one of these is on my bucket list before i leave NY. I got the invite email for this one, but I was sick. I'm going to try to get my BFF to come with. I tell her about you all the time, but I'm not sure she will be adventurous. And yes, my mom made Sunday supper fit years after my grandmother died, but my favorite was roast beef. Rare, with a salad, mashed potatoes and strung beans. On alternating Sundays, my uncle would make a huge pot of sauce.... After he died, we kinda didn't do it anymore. So I'll try to con BFF into it... Otherwise, I'll be alone there, and I know what you're going to say..... But yeah, my caprese will be for one. But it's OK. Imma get there.... ❤

Everybody who knows proper Italian cooking also knows that you need to add the starchy pastawater for creaminess. Except for Americans maybe.

I love how you showed us both ways of doing it. I do like your way better. Honestly I'd make extra garlic oil to make a calzone, garlic bread w/cheese, or make an amazing sauce later on.

Federweisser (as a drinkto the dish not in the dish) is the perfect wine to balance the saltiness of the dish in my opinion.

Inefficient way of doing it. Boil the spaghetti first. Then stir fry it with a lot of the sauce in a jet engine wok, caramelizing the sauce with high heat in the process until a little charred everywhere.
