I will be on two ICE 4s, a 7-car unit on the non stop from Koln to Berlin, and a 13-car XXL unit from Hamburg to Frankfurt. These will be my two longest high speed train rides.

Basically not bad. Even gate to gate which I really appreciate, cabin could be cleaner. the menu okay. Lounge in Zurich and fast lane access is great. Think for a max. 3 hour flight okay. Thank you for your report.

Hi, generally speaking the overhead spaces aren’t really made for larger pieces of luggage, but there are baggage racks for that in the train. Please also note the current baggage policy/baggage allowance. Enjoy your trip!

3:19 A little detail about the station ; the building with the clock tower behind the train is actually the station building of the French station- yes - Basel SBB is in fact a two-nation-station, Basel SBB /SNCF. The German railways have their own station on the other side of the city-center… The French railway to Basel was the first train line in Switzerland 🇨🇭 in 1844.

The amount of info you dropped was NICE!!!! the only thing I would gripe about (only because you dropped so much knowledge) is whether the train is considered a higher-speed or high-speed train and if the service obtains the later.... But I will be looking for more of your videos in the future if they are like this.

Generally speaking, it’s always a struggle to decide which piece of information makes it into the video and which not, because it also has to do with the length of the animations etc. For instance at one point I also wanted to explain that Alstom is a French company that manufactures the TGV, but I found it just too much 😅 Yes, all my videos are created in this fact-loaded style, please feel free to watch my previous productions as well! I love watching railway videos of all kinds, but train/trip reviews are some of my favorite, and your presentation was emaculate. I only added about adding the trains speed overall and if it reaches it within the service because I save it to a library and while I have a first-class ticket section, the videos also go under their speed 2. But it was very enjoyable.

No, unfortunately it was terminated during the pandemic and has not resumed service ever since. This topic wanders around in the media every once in a while: www.atlantico.net/articulo/vigo/piden-regreso-trenes-nocturnos-vigo/202403090100591023238.html So far though (April 2024) the train has not come back.

I never transit through Frankfurt Hbf, I always transit through Frankfurt Airport, the safest major train station in Germany. You can modify the minimal transit duration or make a Flex Preis booking. The system may recommend you to transit through Frankfurt Fernbahnhof instead of Koeln, Duesseldorf or any other crime infested station.

Hi! I absolutely agree, Frankfurt Flughafen Fernbahnhof feels a lot safer, has many connections and the fact that you can just come out of a plane and continue your trip is really great. Personally, I also love the Squaire from an architectural standpoint, I think it's a cool building. Do you have any other stations in Europe that you like or dislike? Comparing ICE with Italo makes no sense. You should compare Italo with Trenitalia offcourse!

You're right from a practical standpoint, but I find it cool to compare all sorts of railway services with each other. It doesn't make sense because obviously the ICE is not a choice in Italy, but nevertheless I think it's interesting to see what is offered in different countries. Thanks for watching! When Mediterranean corredor is fisih France-Barcelona-Valencia-Murcia-Almería-Granada-Málaga-Algeciras port, the biggest port in Europe. Since it will be an important infraestructure for the EU, evrerything is two-way and it willalso be for goods,so products such as vehicles in Barcelona and Valencia and a raw materials and other industries wuill be able to export to the center of Europe

Given that HS2 has been scrapped here in the U.K. I very much doubt if we will ever have high speed rail here in Manchester now - trains in my native Republic of Ireland are better by comparison, as the Irish government are improving our railways

You can put some things above the seat. For larger items there are luggage racks as well (as shown in the video).

Nice video! I'm looking at the Club Executive train from Roma Termini to Milano Centrale. You say it takes three hours, but when I look at the booking now, it seems to take five hours with three stops? Another thing - the food you showed, was that all included?

Hi, I’m not a travel agency, so I don’t know what you have booked 🤷♂️ Are you sure you chose the right trip on the right site? When I look on Italo’s website there are plenty of trains from Rome to Milan that take 3 hours and 10 minutes or so. Yes, the food (snack on the first leg of the trip and sandwich on the second) was included. However, things may have changed in the meantime. Thanks for watching and happy travels, travelmentary TV

@@travelmentaryTV I just checked both Trenitalia Frecciarossa (1000) and Italo AGV. The shortest travel time on my current date is 4 hours and 30 minutes (mid-August). However, if I look at the end of August, the times are indeed down to just over three hours. Interesting.

They traditionally choose August, because usually there is less demand in that month.

I just recently traveled on an ICE (I don’t think it was an ICE4 though) and if I remember correctly it was possible. I will re-check it on an upcoming trip 🙂

07:40, the best food options are usually on the Czech and Slovak IC trains, where you have a genuine restaurant car, with a full-fledged kitchen, cooking full meals for its customers. Catering is sh* on most West-European trains. Look Eastward.

It's not a product, it's a service. As in Air Service. Not Air Product. Same with trains. Travel is a service that one uses, not a physical product that one purchases. It's not your fault - it's a current mis-use by English speakers, probably introduced by marketing geniuses.

nice video, but the ICE4 IS NOT THE NEWEST nor the latest high speed train in Germany. That title must go to the ICE3neo which is in service since december 2022 and "not only an updated version of the old one" but actually a real new train. (not considering ongoing the new Talgo made ICE L which has been ordered and will enter passenger services approximately in 2024)

It‘s kind of confusing, please allow me to explain my reasoning: Regarding the numbering the ICE 4 is the latest ICE (newly developed ICE I shall say), but the ICE3neo is the latest to have been introduced within Deutsche Bahn. My understanding is that the ICE3neo (DB 408) is based on the Velaro platform, just like the DB Class 407 that has been in service since 2014. So I believe it’s not really a completely new train, but the latest version of the Velaro family. That‘s where my explanation is coming from 🤷♂️ I see your point though and will explain it differently the next time. Maybe I‘ll make an animation showing the different ICE trains. Also thanks for mentioning the ICE L, I would love to make a video on that in future. Christian from travelmentary TV
