I’m glad people from all clubs get to see what Roy Keane is all about. They likely may not have taken to the man when their team played against him but he was simply magnificent. The beating heart of a quite wonderful group of players who’d outplay or out battle the opposition. There was no feeling like watching him lead your team out.

Biggest mistake Ferguson made was not to bring Roy into the fold…to bring him on as his successor. Keane often used Liverpool as a standard and they had nominated successors….Shankly, Paisley, Fagan, Dalglish….with the likes of Hughes, Bruce and Keane you’d have continuity….Ferguson is ultimately responsible for the mess United find themselves in.

As a swede I was never ever worried when being drawn against England in the euros or world cup. But if Roy Keane was born in England you would probably have won euro 92, gone far in world cup in 94,win 96 and 2000. This is a good way to see what a difference a hard working Irishman will do for a team. If his name is Roy Keane you have arrived at the top of the mountain.
