THANK YOU Taddy ! my mom's AC just went out, and I'm reviewing moving to a heatpump vs her 4TON ac and propane furnace . Still doing the calcs, but looks like the year 1 savings + rebates may pay for the unit ( wholesale ) . .

I'm actually interested and using a mini split system in a house that I'm in the process of making the plans for building but I haven't seen a lot of videos on how to do a house with those systems and make them energy efficient

I just order a fan blade puller. I don't need it yet but may come in handy. What I do have that really comes in handy are 8 point sockets. I also usually identify what size threads are on the puller holding screws and main bolt. Nice to know to occasionally run the threads and keep them lubricated. What you mentioned about making sure the bolt is center with the fan shaft is probably really critical.

Most hacks, yah you need a new system! Customer: is it beyond repair? Tech: I don’t know how to actually troubleshoot.

2019. 4 ton 17 seer A/C, new line set. with a 100k btu 95.5% efficiency furnace. York equipment. $8000.00. Labor a big thing. 2024 neighbors have a similar setup put in. $18,000.00. Mine gets TLC every year so i dont have to replace it in 10 to 12 years.

We got a 3 ton 16 seer from train the top of the line air conditioner unit. Two years ago and we only paid a $4800.And I believe train is better than York.. and that is in Canadian dollars.

Tranes aren't that good. Bosch all the way, inverter (modulates), quiet, cheaper to run, high efficiency rating, can use it for AC only or as a heat pump

Anything can break. Question tough, do those HVAC systems have parts supply chain, or those are more like, when it got broken, you have to buy new unit, as parts are not a thing? This is what happens with China car brands, they look fine and affordable but only at point when you need to do major repair and then you have to either find donor car or dump it as parts supply chain is not established.
