2001 was a wild season for the heels. Started 0-3 with a tough schedule then won 8 of 10 with wins over top 15 clemson and fsu. We also beat auburn in the peach and won the state title by beating state and duke

Man I was at this game! We had such a blast! And as many times as I have seen the replay of this game, today was the first time I actually saw myself on the TV!! Me and my boys were hooting and hollering behind some FSU fans at the 6:30 mark after Borders scored to open the second half!!

@@tarheelvault chiziks scheme was awful….. I feel like Bateman tried but it all unraveled in his final season. Hopefully Collins aggressive approach can utilize guys like Rucker, Echols and Huzzie to their fullest potential. Also, we need to actually actually develop our d-lineman somthing we have done a poor job on

Not the best UNC team ever but this team kickstarted one hell of a 4 year run that included- 4-0 at hansborough indoor stadium, 3 acc regular season championships, 2 acc tourney championships, 3 elite 8 appearances 2 final four appearances and one ncaa title

Some home cooking here. For example, zebras completely botched the end of the 1st H. OSU should've had two seconds not one. They took all of the time to have a conference about who knows what at the scorer's table and never bothered to review the time. Then call a shot clock violation when the clock wasn't even on. Multiple no calls on three second violations. Letting Hansborough travel repetitively. Allowing UNC players to slide and take contact without being set and call a charge. Ridiculous. Hope they ate well with the extra cash. UNC is lucky Oden couldn't play.

I remember this game like it was yesterday. I was living in NC and was 15 years old and was the only UNC fan in a house full of Duke fans. The Danny Dunk is why I chose to wear #14 in high school basketball. Very tough ending to the year, especially living in a Duke house...but the following year was GLORIOUS

Great vid! Everyone talks about the return against state in ‘12 but my favorite moment was the double fumble touchdown in Durham against duke… watching their facial expressions was priceless😂

@@Happytarheel7 Yep, feel the same way about the Tech touchdown reception where he spins out of the catch then stiff arms two guys on the way to the end zone, one of the most spectacular UNC plays I've ever seen that never gets talked about either because we ended up losing.

I was working when it happened live but I had it recorded so I made sure to not get online or listen to anything until I got home that night and watched it.
