Why didn't we opted to promote Solar Energy for domestic consumption to meet demand and supply gap in summers? In addition to the above why didn't we focus on increasing the capacity of our indegnious power plants? Absolutely, no justification for creation of IPPs !
@hamidwattoo5 күн бұрын
What is the point now? Already we have excess capacity that we can't sell or use because of its being very expensive and more than required. Whether the people buy this capacity or not, they would have to pay this either through their bills (in case being on national grid) or through other taxes or less spending on their social needs (in case on being solar panels). We are in a capacity trap

Education System in Pakistan has improved in comparison to 1990s unfortunately due to commercialisation and competition amongst private institutions.

Termination Clause in Appointment Letters/ Contracts which states services termination "Without Cause" should be termed as unethical simply because it is against the spirit and sense of Law. Termination "Without Cause" is mostly used and abused as a victimisation tool by Senior Management against employees due to their personal liking and disliking. Termination "Without Cause" should only be applicable in following 03 conditions: 1. Loss Making Company. 2. Closure of Business Segment. 3. Post Abolish due to Restructuring. Termination "With Cause" is fine because it is a violation of Code Conduct e.g. Integrity, Character and Performance etc. Due process of natural justice is followed in services termination "With Cause" in the form of Inquiry, Personal Hearing and Penalty so that nobody is condemned unheard!

Mukkaram sb was a thorough gentleman. I met him several times in 2022 regarding a deputation case. He was a strong supporter of NTDC's deputation policy and fought for its revival in the Board of Directors. Secondly, coming from outside the usual WAPDA HR environment, he did not possess the typical arrogance often seen in our HR officers (with a few exceptions), especially towards engineers.

Core issues of NTDC like lack of ownership, high expectations but less resources, unaligned personal and company's interests etc are pointed out. But what is roadmap to resolve/avoid such chronic issues?

There was absolutely no need to unbundled WAPDA. Privatisation is not a pragmatic solution. If Private Sector can deliver why Public Sector can't deliver results?

Why Engineers unable to control Circular Debt in Power Sector? Why we unable to see effective Energy Mix in Pakistan? Why indeginization and localisation policy not implemented? What is the justification of IPPs? Why Engineers unable to exploit immense Natural Resources in Pakistan?
