Hii, I have been watching videos like these for the past couple of weeks and I really love how honest you are! I’m currently in 11th grade and I’m doing my international gcse’s however I’ll be moving to New York in June and I’m really stressed out about getting into a good school (doing my SAT test and extracurriculars etc) I really need recommendations for a nice high school and how I should begin my senior year, I would be more than grateful if you could help me!! 💕

Hi, I am currently a junior and have a question. I took AP Calculus BC when I was a sophomore and AP Physics 1 as a junior. I received decent grades in both courses. I didn't take the AP exams this year, which means I have AP course credit but not exam credit. If I am interested in applying to top universities, do you think I should take the exams as a senior? Or do you think it is too late to take the exams as a senior?

I would really like to ask, does my family background matter? If my parents did not have the opportunity to learn or work, and I want to enter a top university, and my government is the one who will pay for the university, does it still matter?
@itsjinakohalas4 күн бұрын
no, i don't think that it matters
@AMSHAALSHAMMARI4 күн бұрын
@@itsjinakohalas I thought it would be important because they ask about it in Common Up. I would like to ask another question: If the GPA is 91.75 and the SAT is 1580, can I still enter an elite university and what are the extracurricular activities that interest these universities because I am neither an athlete nor a researcher?

Hello, l am in the 8th grade.We have 11 classes. There are no problems with GPA.I need to take the IELTS exam now and get an 8 or higher score.l'm already speaking without an emphasis on English, but I can't just answer more complex questions right away, l'm still not fluent. And since the pronunciation of the speech is like yours, I am now at the Pre-Inter level. In addition, if I pass IELTS for 8, then I will know 4 languages.Of course, I don't have a certificate for the other 3.But I know them completely.Things are going very well with mathematics. After IELTS, I will study for the SAT. And also, this month I will already go to drawing courses with a good teacher, but l've drawn before, but it wasn't that professional. So give me some advice, pls..What can I do more to increase the chances?! feel hopeless and that I won't have time to do everything.

@CollegeChinguКүн бұрын
That is totally fine!! Start your own, or do something outside of school. Colleges go through admissions profiles school by school so if you have an extracurricular that is outside your school (like Jina did with her reading buddy program) that makes you look really impressive.

@CollegeChinguКүн бұрын
@@exposedidv6933 I think that sounds good! Just try to choose one to devote slightly more time to so you have one activity with like a large time commitment: colleges really like that

i got into bronx science last march with a 582 and I'm wondering how hard the competition is between peers and how it feels to have a multitude of kids apply to the same top tier universities that most are very much qualified for? Were you surprised that any of your friends got rejected??
@itsjinakohalas4 күн бұрын
congrats getting into bxsci ! good question, i think that most people work very hard at stuy and other good high schools, but it wasn't that toxic because everyone just works towards their own goals. yea, i was very surprised that some of my friends got rejected, but college decisions are so unpredictable. it felt competitive at times because a lot of people are trying to go to the same top unis but also a lot of people get in from stuy so it wasn't that bad

@edmundlee40876 күн бұрын
You rightly mentioned that background is very important in the process, but then you neglected to mention the most important aspect of your profile which is FGLI. That completely reframes your stats, ECs, etc. FGLI was the most important institutional priority for every top school this year after the Supreme Court decision last year. Congrats.
