Hi Tim. Don’t know if you’ll get this comment.... it’s really just a quick reply to your comment on my “5 guitar shoot-out”. I’ve since deleted that vid, as I wasn’t too happy with the playing. But anyway, thanks for watching it, and for your comment. My tones were mostly the same across all guitars, i.e. Crunch, Gain near max, more Bass than Treble / Middle. No Booster on, except on the PRS, which had a little. A little delay and a lot of Reverb. Half Watt setting, and no external effects, pedals or tonestudio :-)

Oh my word! I remember going to Cumbria (well Oxenholme and Windermere) for the first time almost 2 years ago. What can I said, that place was absolutely breathtaking, it's probably one of the most spectacular places that I have visited within the UK. I can't wait to go back again, hopefully this summer.

I just did Helvellyn this weekend and Striding Edge was one of the scariest things I'd done too... until I had to try and make my way down on to Swirral Edge with the cliff covered in thick ice. Never been so scared. However, I do think the snow and ice made it all the more beautiful. Red Tarn was frozen solid. See my video if you're interested.

Walking over the striding edge one of the most scary things in my life! I also swam across that lake you showed in 1.46.

Yes, the lower path takes you away from the pinnacle of the edge, but only about 20ft below it. If you pause the video at 2 minutes you can see the lower path on the right side of the edge. As long as you're sensible, with good weather conditions, you should be fine. I hope you manage to get up there, it really is an exhilarating experience.

Just treat it with respect and you'll be fine :) You don't have to go along the peak of the edge, there is a lower path that many people take.

Always a fun walk. Watch the sheep at the top, they'll have you're lunch away given the chance.

Wow! 28 times Cortina? I'm jealous :) I'll be doing it for the third time in a few weeks. I read a comment by another poster who described climbing Helvellyn as "one of the most uplifting experiences of my life". I thought that summed it up nicely. Everybody should do it once (or perhaps 28 times :)
