I think your talking about More Mortski repair with his springer spaniel dog Duff dog . He lives in North Dakota or South Dakota can't remember but I've been watching him for some years when he had his first shop that didn't even have a lift in the shop . I've always liked the Pontiacs . My dad had a 69 Pontiacs Grand Prix with the 400 4 barrel TH 400 12 bolt rear limited slip and factory dual exhaust. That car drove so nice I remember when driving it and it actually handled pretty well for its day & the torque it made when you got on it it would chirp the tires when it shifted from 1st to 2nd gear I remember. The dash was laid out almost like some kind of fighter jet with the way the gauges were set in the dash with the 160 mph speedometer and the dash coming down right into the floor council with the floor shifter and bucket seat . Opening the doors from outside & inside were something that was totally different than any car at the time and would love to have one now but the prices on anything from those years in good condition are just crazy high . I worked at S&S performance years ago in Crystal MN and my boss was Scott Payne who was the owner of the shop and he was the 1st person to have a chassis dyno in MN and we helped build a 69 Pontiac GTO that was going to be drag raced called the Bottle Fed Goat because it was running a 455 HP block with all the good stuff including a sheet aluminum tunnel ram intake with a 3 stage nitrous system on it . We built the tube chassis for it and the headers for it because the shop had a fabrication shop upstairs . The chassis was a certified race chassis for the class it was running in because it was running low 8s in the 1/4 mile then at 165+ mph & at that time it was a national record setting Pontiac and was one of the quickest & fastest Pontiac power Pontiac in the USA as the owner raced it at every event he could with it . This car was making North of 1,500+ HP to the rear wheels when they had been tuning it on the chassis dyno in the shop and Fridays were always dyno days so if you were working down stairs in the shop you always had to remember to bring ear plugs because it was so loud at times with open header drag cars being brought in to be dyno tuned for max HP and torque. Definitely a fun place to work but I left after I moved out of MN and moved to rural Wisconsin and basically retired . Were you able to watch that Lions Den 45 video that guy put out on how we need stronger leadership? Because if you haven't I say watch it & have a few beers to watch him get super pissed off at this joke of a administration we have that's destroying America from within & it's about a 1/2 hour long & I laughed my ass off on how angry he gets & I totally agree with him on this BS that's going on & happening in our country . Maybe make a video of how these chambered mufflers sound !

Garlitz got a question why does classic muscle cars and trucks have this amzing sound to them? Whenever they pass by my cars at low rpm’s and low speed they have a deep sound that you can feel. The new muscle cars are loud and all but when these Classics pass by you can feel em in your chest and they leave a certain type of smell behind then. I recently have fallen in love with classics and was wondering why the produce the sound that sounds so good but you can actually feel it

You have been bitten by the old car bug! There's a few things going on and I'll tell you why you have the experience you have! The main difference between new and old muscle cars is the fuel delivery systems, new muscle cars have electronic fuel injection and new muscle cars have emissions equipment, they have an on board computer system, plus new engines are designed and built by computers! Old muscle, emissions free, engines built by men, and old muscle cars have carburetors and no computer systems! The look, the smells and the sounds of classic muscle cars is unmistakable! Sure new muscle cars might have more horsepower but old school muscle cars turn heads and drawls way more attention than new muscle cars! Probably do a video on the subject!

You can start with long tube headers, 2 1/2 inch pipe to a set of any mufflers of your choice! I like flowmaster super 10's but you can also use Dynomax bullets, they'll definitely piss off the neighbors, or the line up of Black widow mufflers, they have a neighbor hater muffler as well! After the mufflers you can either put turn downs on or go straight out the back with 3 inch pipe and end with a set of 4 inch stainless steel tips for a deep rear tone! One other thing to remember you will probably have a inside drone from any of those mufflers and that can drive you crazy on long trips unless it doesn't bother you! Hopefully that'll give you an idea! Thanks for watching and commenting buddy!

I have sporiatic arthritis in my joints especially my hands and have had it since the 90s and i had to have cortizone shots in my right hands knuckles especially the small finger knuckle on that side and the damn doctor i had drew a target on that knuckles joint with a pen with a bulls eye in the middle and that damn doctor jabbed that seringe needel right into the joint and was moving the needle around to try and force as much cortizone into the knuckle joint that the cortizone was squirting out and that bastard almost got knocked out when he did this because it hurt like a bitch . I was in really good shape back then from working in the die casting shops for years & pain back then didn't bother me much at all but on that day i got that shot that & the way he drove that needle in he was very lucky i didn't kick his ass that day . I thought initially that i had a shard of glass that was stuck in that knuckle because I admit i had a bad temper at times & i had busted door glass windows out on cars on occasion and although I never broke any bones in my hand i did manage to get cut by the glass and I started having issues with my hands years later specifically my right hands knuckes so i went in to see a doctor & had a xray done & they couldn't see any glass at all so i ended up seeing a specialist who found out i some how contracted sporiatic arthritis & had to get shots for it so my hands would function again so i could go back to work . There is no cure for this they told me & when you get this crap after a few years you will get soriusus on your skin with red spots all over your skin that won't go away but they have pills and injections for this now and i looked into these drugs that they were giving me when I first got this & taught myself to use a computer at the local library and found out these drugs were pretty bad for us and chucked them in the garbage can & decided to try and deal with it but now they have these new drugs pill form or injections that can give a person heart problems liver and kidney problems and possibly limphoma cancers plus its super expensive & I think whats better dealing with the spots which make you look like a freak or injecting crap into your blood stream that can kill you possibly. They say theres no cure but i honestly i don't believe FDA or the government because they are both in on this to make money off of us & its another ploy by our government so we die faster so they can keep all the money we worked our asses off for to be able to retire so we get screwed by them once again . Check out a KZfaq channel called the lions den 45 because the guy who runs it is ex 20+ year veteren and he is a Trump supporter but find we need stronger administration on his channel and this video will make you laugh your ass off because he did this a while ago but man he gets really really pissed as he's drinking beer in his garage and goes off on Brandon and all the people who voted for him that hate trump because orange man bad syndrome so lets vote with our feelings so find it & watch it when you get the time because I must have watched it at least 5 times just to laugh my ass off because he cusses & swears a lot in it plus he's a car guy because he has a old mustang as well that he shows progress being done on it . The whole video is about a half hour long so be ready for that but damn he is a riot watching this video . One of the things he mentions is when Trump walked through the border to go visit that kim jung ung and wispered in his ear this guy says try anything & we will turn your country into glass lol .

One thing I've learned years ago with header gaskets on a chevy or otherwise (paper gaskets) double them up on each side, place them in a bucket of water before mounting (torque them up to spec) and fire it up to seal. I never had a blow out or crack doing that time and again. Also that gen of C series, like the rest of the stuff out of that era really. The bodies were all hand drawn unlike the cab forward computer cad designed garbage of the modern era. And really between the step side and fleet sides, I can't even pick a favorite because they both are just eye candy.

On my buddies 69 Plymouth Road runner with a big block 451 stroker thats in it we ended up using those thick aluminum header gaskets that crush down once torqued down because we tried the conventional MR Gasket header gaskets and they kept leaking even after letting the headers cool down completely then re torquing the bolts again a few times so we decided to try those aluminum header gaskets and they worked great . Not sure if you've worked on many mopar cars but doing headers on even the B body Road runner with a big block putting big tube headers on them are a bitch lol . When we were getting to the point of installing the engine we did it like the factory did on the assembly line where the engine transmission & K mamber were all bolted together and we then lowered the body over the whole engine assembly using the lift and bolted the K member to the under carriage to make it easier but after we got the car in its final stages of being able to start & drive the damn header gaskets started to leak even after re tightening the bolts a few times with no luck of them sealing off like they should. So we ended up pulling the plugs out to make as much room as possible & he bought these aluminum crush headers gaskets that we had to sneak in between the header flanges and the engine block to get the gasket and header lined up to then bolt them to the heads which was a pain in the ass but got it done & after 3+ years now no leaking header gaskets using these other style header gaskets which i think they are called dead blow aluminum header gaskets but i don't remember what brand they are . If i remember they also make them in thick copper as well so as long as the header flanges are straight and flat & the heads exhaust flanges are flat they seal very good . If i remember the headers on this Plymouth are Hookers as well who usually make some good headers but who knows now with just about everything being out sourced to Chinesesium land that can fuck up a wet dream lol . My buddy and me are working on a 67 Mercury Cougar that is a rust free body & turned it into a fast back being he's a really good body guy who taught auto bod clssses at the university of Eau Claire Wisconsin for a number of years but instead of running a Ferd engine we decided to put a Chevrolet 5.3 LS in it just to piss the Ferd guys off & he bought s set of stainless steel headers for it off of eBay and they fit really nice with no issues of hitting anything so we fabbed the reast of the exhaust using 3 inch stainless tube and used 2 chamber race mufflers with all the jionts welded onece everything we lined up to make sure nothing will be touching anything . The rear valance he cut holes on both sides so the exhaust tips go through these holes that he made stainless steel trim rings that attach to the holes for the exhaust tips to go through to make it look cleaner. We updated the front suspension to rack and pinion steeing and its all independent up front so the original shock towers were removed to do this plus the rear was updated as well & it now has 4 wheel disc brakes all around now . Right now the engine is stock other than the headers but he built this car so it can be driven like a modern car can & gets decent mileage because the Road Runner gets about 5 miles to the gallon and its fun to drive because we updated the suspension and put 4 wheel disc brakes on it but with 3:90 gears and the 727 with a 3,000 flash converter in it & a 800 cfm Demon double pump carb jetted fkr the engine on the dyno after i bult the engine it sucks gas like a pig so it doesn't get driven often but it sure hauls ass when needed lol .

Dawn sish soap and water in a sprayer all over the beads and tread . I had a Chevrolet ralley rim for my 82 K10 that kept going flat and it ended up being the valve stem hole had some corrosion and i had a guy who i know who works for a tractor equipment shop that took a drill and opened up the hole for the valve stem & used a steel valve stem that has the rubber seals on both sides and no more leak. My neighbor had a auto repair shop and I brought the tire to him twice and he didn't get it fixed so i took it to my buddy that works at the tractor equipment shop and he did a great job so make sure to look for corrosion and the valve stem hole isn't out of round .

I moved from the Hagerstown area to western NY in 2018. In MD I ran 93 in my 455 ’72 Cutlass. Park it in the heat and you could hear the gas boil in the fuel pump (not the carb). I have been running non-ethanol (recreational) gas available at some pumps here - get it if you can find it. No boil, no serious vapor issues, no ethanol degradation. But other than Bowman’s trucking fuel station, non-ethanol is rare in western MD, I’d say. I know it would help.

That truly IS one HEAVY CHEVY brother! My stars!! I gotta say, for me, the 69' fastback Chevelle has always been THE ONE muscle car that I would love to own, or possibly even build for myself (when I'm old and completely grey... but I'm not there just yet...) out of whatever foundation I could manage to get my hands on. There aren't many left these days. And the ones that are around and about, are either already built to death, and far out of reach for the "Average Joe", or, such a nightmare to imagine having to navigate a build from beginning to end, that your average "Average Joe", simply says NO. But, this IS America... And a guy can dream, can't he?! Anyway, that is truly a thing of beauty... And the owner definitely has some "spunk" when it comes to accessorizing! My wife said "damn baby... It looks just like they took the mold straight from between your very own legs! We should've gotten those things copyrighted, or trademarked, or SOMETHING! Then every time somebody hung a set of those gorgeous baby-makers from their car or truck, we could get paid some royalties!" Hind-sight IS always 20-20, is it not?!

I would check float hight on both fuel bowls just to make sure they aren't set a little too high if you havent then check your fuel pressure to see if the pump is either sending too much fuel pressure or the fuel pressure is inconsistent going up & down . Not sure what your running but probably a stock type fuel pump & not a holley electric blue pump but those stock style fuel pumps I do know the spring gets worn out and when that happens fuel pressure becomes inconsistent or if the diaphragm is getting weak or has a small tear in it & it starts to fluctuate the fuel pressure . Depending on how old that Holley is it might even be worn out throttle shaft bushings causing a idle that keeps going up and down because the throttle plates dont return to the exact same position and it can be sucking air past those shaft bushings causing a fluctuating idle & have seen this on Holley Edelbrock & the old Quadrajets quite often through the years . Could be the distributor like you say as well where the advance springs are getting weak or broke or if the advance plate is worn out where the weights sit & open up & close where the pins are for the advance weights to move on they get worn out and sloppy which causes erratic timing . Even the distributor shaft bushing can wear out which causes erratic idle & timing changes ive seen . Some of this timing stuff you should be able to see with a timing light on the engine while it idles by looking at the timing marks on the ballancer when holding the throttle at a higher rpm to see if theres any timing fluctuation at both speeds. If you know anyone that has a distributor machine by chance which are getting hard to find these days a distributor machine can go a long ways on finding out the problem plus getting the distributor dialed in for your timing needs like a quicker timing advance like you were mentioning & actually tuning the distributor to your engine application . It could even be that vacuum advance diaphram is getting weak or has a tear in the diaphram and its sucking air at idle. So many variables with using these distributors compared to moden computer controlled ignitions where there is no distributors like the modern GM LS uses but it is what it is and is always a part of what we have to deal with on these old cars we build & work on . Im assuming that you do have a phenolic heat spacer between the carburetor and intake manifold because I've seen people who have not used them & end up having all kinds of issues with idle wandering & boil over from the heat causing the fuel to expand especially with this crap pump gas we have that has alcohole in it . Years ago I could get 110 octane race fuel at 2 different pumps where I used to live at 2.80 a gallon and my built Chrysler 440 loved it tail pipes were a nice light brown color the engine ran a little cooler and I could run more initial timing advance so throttle response was much better but race fuel now has skyrockted so its not feasible to use much anymore other than to go racing or blending it with the crap fuel we get now and I know thats why some have some have jetted their carburetors way up to run E85 to take advantage of the higher octane rating to get the performance they want because race fuel is so damn expensive now . One last thing i do know that on the SBC if you dont get the distributor locked down tight enough that the distributor well turn causing the timing to drop so I would check that the distributor hasn't moved & that initial timing is still set where it should be or where you like it set at . Do a follow up video of what you find out because inquiring minds want to know .

The problem with the larger tire & wheel combo is they ride like crap plus the rims are heavy which hurts braking and also adds more unsprung weight which hurts handling & with the stock style shocks the added weight doesn't let the shocks do the job they we're intened to do which is to control the suspension. Your always better trying to find the lightest and strongest rims you can in a 15 as well as the lightest but stringes tires if possible so the car handles & brakes as efficient as possible. Drag racers have known this for years as well as road race drivers .

I'm a car guy and just subscribed . Been a mechanic for years working on antique and muscle cars and drag cars for years before I retired at some shops but I still help a buddy work on his 69 Plymouth Road runner with a 451 big block i built for the car & we are now building a 67 Mercury Cougar & decided to go with a 5.3 LS in it with updated suspension so its easier to drive & not get 5 miles to the gallon like the Road runner gets . I blong to a local car club to help on some of the cars we have in the club plus help out with the car show we have every year just to stay busy . Us car guys need to stick together because we have a administration that wants to get rid of oil and gasoline which will kill our car culture . FJB period !

Fords are the worst to work on compared to gm and Chrysler stuff . Back in the early days they werent bad to work on but during the mid 70s they started making things more difficult to work on & were one of the first to use both standard SAE and metric bolts and nuts on the same cars and trucks so you were forced to go out and buy metric tools. I worked at a bone yard called Whiteys auto parts in Blaine MN now long gone as well asthe state being gone by a bunch of liberal woke POS and the new Ford LTD had come out & it had both metric and standard bolts and nuts on the damn cars so I had to buy more metric tools and until you got to tearing a few down to know exactly where the metric bolts & nuts were used along with the standard it took more time at first than it should have because of this crap . They were the first to start this crap of making cars trucks more difficult to work on so if you didn't have the tools needed or wrenching abilities you were forced to take it to the Stealership or a shop to get screwed in the ass by them and now they are all like this now with over engineered junk cars and trucks that have multiple moduels and computers on them and miles of cheap wiring that goes bad that causes all kinds of issues. Im about ready to go backwards on a older truck either a square body or older Dodge because im fed up with this over complicated crap that im dealing with on my newer Chevrolet Silverado and I dont have 10,000 to blow on a new snap on scanner just to work on it to fix it . The prices of these new cars and trucks are insane and the people who buy these that are costing 40,000 & up are stupid because for the money they are paying these damn vehicles should come with a 10 year million mile warrenty but i guess they like getting screwed in the ass with no lube lol . If people would just stop buying these new cars and trucks for a while & let the Stealerships sit on them long enough the prices would come down but they are too stupid to realize this & go out and buy them anyway getting themselves into massive debt which when they die either their children will have to pay for this or we the people will pay for it through more taxes and higher prices on everything just like we are seeing now .

Yep the prices on old cars especially the Mopar muscle cars is through the roof . The people that have old Mopar muscle cars that have been sitting rotting think the damn cars are gold plated with the prices on them and they say if it doesn't sell they will just keep them letting them rot even more . I can remember buying muscle cars in the 70-80s that were in decent shape for 500-800 bucks that you could daily drive easily. Our government has destroyed just about every aspect of our lives especially with this POS we have as a supposed voted in president resident and everyone knows brain dead that has 1 brain cell in his ass isn't running the show & it's the POS Obummer .
