The winch is mounted completely wrong. It blocks all the air flow to the radiator. You take that truck to the desert and you will have issues. All show and no go.

Im at 34:17 and I havn`t been able to turn away for more than 2 or 3 seconds since your timelapse awesome video began. We had a 72 Fj the same color back around 76-81 and went down to Baja many many times with a TRW dive (party)club. That tank never once even hiccuped with any problems ever. It just ran, ran, ran till it was just time to retire. Your video brings back so many memories of great times. You did a great job on this video especially with the music. it sort of reminds me of Bolero by Maurice Ravel with the gradual"ramping up".

One of the best or the best restoration video ever seen. High quality, love, passion and an incredible attention to details. Great job, My father bought new a BJ40 in 1976. Same car but with a diesel engine. These diesel engine was 3.2-liter diesel inline-four paired with a four-speed manual transmission and a dual-range transfer case. Engine was made by Daihatsu a company nowdays owned by Toyota. 50 years later you can still find lots them running in Costa Rica, they still are tough and dependable.

I’ve had my ‘71 for about a year now. Best thing to do I’ve found is get in with the groups and forums. Super bunch of fellas that will always share advice, tips, parts and support. So far my biggest issues have come from what the groups call “PO” (Prior owners). Some of the Mickey Mouse nonsense I’ve had to deal with that makes zero logical sense, has been the most frustrating and time consuming of the problems I’ve had, as there’s no manual for most of it. I’ve got my baby running great and it’s pretty much down to cosmetics (someone decided that while they had to replace the rear tub, they would just customize in the most asinine ways possible) and some wiring. My wife thinks I’ve lost my mind for loving that old tractor rather than some fancy new Bronco or Jeep, but me and my dog (copilot) are in love with it!🥰
