Didn't work for me at all with the KnuKonceptz Kord Kable 12 Gauge. It grabs on the sheath and was never able to sever it and ended up stretching the sheath. The wire cutter also didn't cut clean. Totally useless for me.

I had these for a few years now. They are ok bur really only ok especially with thinner cables. the plastic length adjustment of course broke very early. Any quality tool you would be able to buy this part but not fore these. I would not buy them again.

Hard to see with that black background. Perhaps a lighter color? Great demo, btw. I just got this for work today and you showed everything I need to do. Thx

You did not finish dressing the cable, I guess that means you have to get a second tool to cut off the plastic jacket and paper insulator

This Stanley box cutter model can be used has a seatbelt cutter because tht integrated string cutter recesses in the blade like tht of a seatbelt cutter’s blade!

⚠️ THE "TOOL-FREE" TOOL THAT REQUIRES A WORKSHOP TO REMOVE THE PACKAGING BEFORE USE ⚠️ All of this might be wonderful, except that STANLEY sells this knife with totally non-removable display packaging. It's a piece of super-strong cardboard that slots in where the blade is later inserted. So, you press the yellow release button and attempt to push the slider forwards to release the card/blade on your "tool-less" new STANLEY knife. NO CHANCE! The display card is held captive inside the mechanism. If it's like their other display cards, you'll need some workshop tools to remove the Philips + head screw, to completely dismantle this "tool-less" tool, before you can remove the display card, which is permanently secured inside the mechanism. I even tried telephoning STANLEY customer support to ask how customers are supposed to remove the display card if the customer isn't an engineer with workshop tools. Their answer is that they don't know how to remove the display card as they don't have examples of their tools at the support centre. They only confirmed that they guess you need to own tools to use this knife. My guess is they bought it from China and no-one had the sense to actually try to use it. Indeed, even before you attempt to remove the display card, they've tightly wrapped it in plastic, for which you need a second STANLEY knife to remove. Another great company run by a clueless management team who have no experience of using tools!

I just purchased one of these and if it wasn't for your video, I would have taken it back tomorrow! It took me 30 minutes to get the plastic brand card out of the damn thing before I could even start to insert a blade and that stupid yellow button isn't easy to get right. I still might take it back, what a piece of junk! "Instant Change" it is NOT!!

I find this tool to be unnecessary. I can strip romex easily with a knife, and not only that, I can also cut the cable shealth off with the knife as well (this tool won't be able to cut the sheath off clean for termination in a connector without leaving excess).

I'm sorry, but this tool is a piece of junk if you're primarily working with 10, 12 and 14 ga Romex cable and wire. I can strip sheathing and wire faster manually, than I can with ANY auto stripper. However, this tool DOES work well on 18 and higher gauge cable and wire (ie: thermostat, and Cat 3, 5, 6, etc), so I did keep it...

I have 2 of these. Bought them decades ago, but couldn't for the life of me figure out how I changed the blades since I haven't needed to do so for quite a while. Struggled for 30 minutes, found your channel and I'm good to go. THANKS! 👍 Subscribed.

Are these really stainless tops? I have the 56” version and am thinking about ordering the 84” with hutch just like in the video. My toolbox top is highly magnetic though so I doubt it’s stainless. Hasn’t rusted at all though and my box is in a shop where we keep the doors open most of the time in the summer. We are at the coast in NC so high humidity. Extremely happy with my 56” box though. I wish the top work surface was a bit stronger. I’ve got a few dents already from various things. At first I didn’t like that it didn’t seem like stainless but I sort of like being able to use a magnet on it to hold paperwork down. My biggest issue though is the height. I wish the hitch was 3” taller.

I recently had to explain to our master tig welder when I had him do so custom work on my leatherman that not all SS is non magnetic. Grades 410, 420, 409, 430,439 410, 420 and 440 are all magnetic.

I bought one on sale and it's OK. It's pretty useful if you're taking the jackets off a lot of runs at the same time, like a J-box or panel. I don't think any other functions are particularly useful but I don't hate that they include all of this on a $6 tool. Sometimes the (correct) tool you need is down a ladder or across a room so using this in a pinch to strip wires or whatever is cool. As mentioned by other comments, the loops aren't technically correct- you don't want any insulation under a terminal screw.

There are better how-to videos that explain that when the blade is pushed forward to the last stop, it needs an extra nudge to push it forward still more (just about 1/8 of an inch) before the yellow button will release the blade.

I don't get it. How do people strip 14/2 romex in production if this tool - supposedly the best one out there - fails miserably? I get the exact result as at t=256 in this video. One way to solve this is to bend the wire down around the left jaw - but that means doubling the stripping time for individual wires. That matters in production, not in hobby.
