ur fishing license money well spent folks. if u happen to walk up the creek past the no fishing gate you will come to a bridge with a hole below it stacked with fish. If you were wondering where all the silvers are and/or if they actually exist thats where, piled in that hole like cordwood. As it is the first slow water that silver perfer. Plunk or drift some roe through there even sink a spoon w a lil fluttering action from ur rod. Silver after silver almost every cast. Just watch outv for the fish cops wearing bear suits they don't like people figuring that out//

Some canners insist on putting skin side out, but you put yours NOT skin side out. Any particular reasons?

Very good presentation but for the benefit of novices I thought the video glossed over a couple of things a bit too quickly- first that steam must be strongly venting steam for 10 minutes before the weight is pit on and second that the timer should only be started when the weight actually begins jiggling after that. A third thing is that AA says there is no need for said weight to be venting continuously but only about 4 times a minute. That eliminates any danger the canner will boil dry, but no doubt a continuous sound is reassuring- I think that's the canner's choice,

Ok, so can someone please explain to me the difference in snagging a sockeye salmon and flossing a sockeye salmon? Scott said for a fish to be legally hooked it must have the point of the hook inside the mouth, not outside, or anywhere else on the flesh. Flossing for salmon means that person is actively attempting to snag a fish inside the mouth, how can this activity be legal?? OR am I missing the point about the department selling license's so they can raise huge amounts of money directly and indirectly through violation fines?? Two years ago in Canada I had an asshole of a fisheries officer try to write a ticket for using a fly with a barb, I had crushed the barb off it with forceps but in his opinion it was still detectable. Right across the river were six first nations guys netting salmon that were protected at that time, but he was too interested in trying to write a $500 fine to the European who fishes there every year and kills zero fish. I told him his $500 fine will cost $5000 per year for the rest of my life, because I will never return, he thought about it and put the book away.

All American recommends only olive oil or Vaseline on the sealing surface of the lid, since other oils can get gummy or sticky after a while. I recently got a 921 (21 quart) All American pressure cooker. It is more expensive that other canners, but will last for generations. I have done 2 batches of rainbow trout and I love it. Do you have a recommendation for cleaning the cooker out after a batch a doing fish. My next project is to can some beef chunks.
