Although there certainly is blood in the afterbirth, there are additional hormonal scents in afterbirth that indicate a new birth, which means an easy meal rather than just an injurred individual. The stronger the scent, the fresher it is, indicating a very new birth of a calf.Great video in total folks. Thanks.

Lovely elephant footage. Always like to see the babies. We were there maybe 3 weeks before you, and saw the same two cheetah in roughly the same area. We have some pretty gory footage of them eating a young zebra, so they certainly didnt look as pristine as in your footage. We hope to be back in the Kruger for a month next January, especially for the birds. Thank you for all the rlovely eminders!

Can one drive with a Motorhome to campsite? It’s not a 4x4
@dogsofthewind3 ай бұрын
Hi thanks for the comment. We wouldnt recommend that. The sand is very soft and deep in places and the road through the forest is narrow and single track for two way traffic. Its very slow going in a 4x4 and the low range of 4x4 is just more safety for the steeper uphills.

@Jonathan_and_Tammie awesome! We’ll check out some of your videos! We stayed for a couple of different long weekends, the camping is cheap but also very basic. They have a single flushing toilet and a unheated shower. The other accomodation is great, small little cottages or a bigger house. Theyre all reasonably priced. Have a look at nylsvley.co.za/ for contact information.

You are certainly getting around South Africa & I'm enjoying being an armchair traveller with the 2 of you. 4 of us went to Ponte 'De Oro (?) in 2010. Although I found it quite scary travelling on those thick sand roads, with no signposts, Peter enjoyed every minute. We went swimming with the dolphins, which is not permissable in South Africa. Perhaps you'll try Cape Vidal some time. Thanks so much for sharing.
