This is misinformation. Its VERY important that your bolts gets to rest between your cycles. If you preassure to A, turn the nuts and release preassure, the bolt will need around 30 mins to return to its original form. If you dont let your bolts rest between cycles they will not be tensioned any more and the nuts will not turn on cycle2, or 3.

what is difference between pressure A (it is the final target?)and pressure B how much % need to be applied
@Lokeh81
@Lokeh81 Ай бұрын
When working with tensioners like this, our goal is to end up with a preassure close to, or slightly higer than B. Ax3+Bx3 = close to B. Your equialized preassure between A and B. So, if you move one of the tensioners back to a random A-bolt and test it, if you have done this correctly, you'll see it releases close to B. if not, if the preassure is alot higher than B or alot lower than B, you need to start all over again.

When tensioning in 50% configuration, Pressure A is Pressure B x CLF. Cross Load Factor (CLF) can range from 1.15 to 1.25 Pressure B is calculated considering the residual load x LTF (Load Transfer Factor). the LTF depends on the grip length or the effective length of the joint and the bolt nominal diameter LTF=1.01+(diameter/grip length).

When installing the nut,I hold the nut and spin the bolt until it catches.This prevents dropping the nut 1,000’ over NYC. I thought I told you this when you first taught our Bolt Technology course at the 40/361 JAC. That had to be around 2006. One of the first jobs where T.O.N. method was required was WTC Tower 1. My bolt inspector was J.Chadee!

Totally worth the $5k for torqueing lugs. 🙄
@christianhartwig90
@christianhartwig90 8 ай бұрын
What is the cost of those lugs snapping loose from over torqueing with an impact? Runaway tires can lead to devastating results, that's why a lot of companies are switching to precise tools with data capture.

Can we use same procedure in any count of bolts
@Lokeh81
@Lokeh81 Ай бұрын
When working with tensioners, its always 1 out of 2 procedures. What we call a 50% tension procedure or 100%. So tools on half of the number of bolts, or tools on all. No more, no less.
@Lokeh81
@Lokeh81 Ай бұрын
and if you use 100% tool precedure, you do not need the A preassure anymore. Just go for B x 3.

Bults like these don't need all that power soa all impact wrench will be enough
@HYTORCNJ
@HYTORCNJ 9 ай бұрын
For this application, the goal is not power, but precision. What we've seen is that impact wrenches can often over torque bolts which can cause them to fail over time. With precision tools like the LION GUN, you can count on the fact that every bolt will be tightened properly. You can even keep track with GPS location on the HYTORC CONNECT App.

Overstressed bolts can snap off over time. With a precision bolting system, you can ensure that each bolt is tightened to specification. Additionally, clicker wrenches and impact wrenches can cause repetitive motion injuries or Hand Arm Vibration Syndrome, whereas the LION GUN tool eliminates that risk.

How do you make the gun torque with the use of only the trigger button
@HYTORCNJ
@HYTORCNJ Жыл бұрын
Holding a button in order to operate the gun ensures that your hands stay clear of the reaction arm to prevent injuries. When tightening with the Grip Tight Nut, or HYTORC Washer, this requirement isn't necessary as these operations don't require the use of a reaction arm. You don't need to hold a button for the entire tightening operation. You can let go of the button as soon as the tool begins to operate.

What advantage does this have over a common wedge-lock washer such as a Nord-Lock? A Nord-Lock has an identical Junker test result. That J-washer alone looks like it would cost a fortune, and it requires a special socket to install.
@HYTORCNJ
@HYTORCNJ Жыл бұрын
The J-Washer has several advantages. Due to the construction of the washer, there is no need for a reaction arm which provides multiple benefits. The first is that load accuracy is improved due to concentric loading. The second is a safety improvement by eliminating the possibility of a pinch-point injury. Additionally, less torque is required to reach your bolt load target due to the placement and size of the topside locking knurls. In terms of cost, as the J-Washer is a 1-piece washer, the cost advantage of our washer grows as the size of the application increases. We have bolting specialists around the world who are ready and available to further discuss the advantages of our system. Please reach out to us at www.hytorc.com/contact or at 1-800-367-4986 and we can connect you with a local expert.
@christianhartwig90
@christianhartwig90 Жыл бұрын
Also, you don't technically need to use the socket driver to tighten a bolt with the J-Washer. You could use a reaction arm like you would need to with a wedge-lock washer. I would recommend upgrading to the socket driver though to eliminate side load.

How can turn off the safety feature?
@mikedolan4894
@mikedolan4894 2 жыл бұрын
Advanced customers have learned that more repeatable bolt loads are possible when you control the tightening process using a torque and angle procedure. For instance; a customer that installs millions of lug nuts per year may prefer a tightening process of 50ft-lbs + 60 degrees of rotation. This may produce the same output as a predefined torque such as 300ft-lbs. However, in certain situations, "Torque" + "Angle of Rotation" can create more accurate preloads than just straight-up torque.
@loymerh
@loymerh 2 жыл бұрын
For what is the angle of the torque tool?
@HYTORCNJ
@HYTORCNJ Жыл бұрын
Some applications require a turn of the nut to a specific angle after reaching a predetermined torque value. HYTORC Electric Tools can deliver both torque and angle in the same pull of the trigger.
