Nice video! Thanks for that! As far as the food goes, you obviously don't really know German cuisine. I really don't understand the criticism. German (European) cuisine doesn't just consist of bratwurst and pork knuckle and can be supplemented at any time with Mediterranean dishes, for example. So you're not forced to only enjoy German cuisine (?), especially if you cook it yourself ;-))! If you like it spicy, you can buy everything you need. In the supermarkets and discount stores you can also buy ready meals for every taste or the ingredients to fulfill every wish. I hope you find a few more dishes that you also like ;-)) I couldn't live like that anywhere, I would probably starve ;-))

I was only there for 4 days on business trip. Every interaction I had with hotel or restaurant staff was extremely confrontational and rude. It is a great place to study behavioral psychology. Sooooo glad I am back in the lovely USA. Never going back there again.

I worked on the 3rd floor in 1978. It was creepy then, too. There were no windows in the whole building except at the entrance for the guards.

Actually, Germans are very soft. I came to work from the Balkans to Germany a month ago, and here they warned me that you can't be direct to your boss as you would be in the Balkans. If you see your boss doing something stupid, you can't tell him he's an idiot or something like that. So actually Germans are very soft, and easily offended 🧽

It's like people don't know pronuncations of names vary between languages and dialects. Paris, Köln, Nike, Colgate, Porsche, etc. People in different places pronounce them differently. Insane, I know!

It is not a false stereotype. It’s absolutely true. I’ve been in Berlin for 4 days and I’ve never been treated so horribly in my life. I’ve gotten angerly yelled at and insulted multiple times already for just existing. It’s insane.

Hahaha, had the opposite problem. It was a sports coach from the US telling everybody how great they were doing. I watched him say that to people I could tell were awful and people who were doing great. So when he told me, I could never tell where I stood and was really uncertain...

It's not jaywalking. It's just... Crossing the street. That's what's happening in Athens btw. Like, why should I needless wait the red light, when there's no incoming cars from any direction, no matter how far I am? Plus, in roads or at times when traffic is minimal, you don't need a zebra crossing to walk to the other side. You just cross. Because if it's safe, it's safe. We don't do that when there's traffic, or in major avenues, but you get what I mean. And apparently that's what happens in most of Europe, from the comments I see.

Hi Diana. As a Canadian citizen, if we arrive there for the initial 90 days without a visa and find a job there, is there a minimum salary to be able to get residence permit (just as in Blue Card requirements)?

you can do grocery shopping in Germany on a Sunday. its just common that the major supermarkets are closed on sunday. small shops, restaurants and quite a few malls are open on sunday. its not illegal to open on Sundays but rather a decision of the company to have their employees have a rest day...
