Personally I think my expectations are quite low, If you weigh less than 140 pounds and ask me out I’ll say yes(sorry if this sounds rude the only reason why I’m saying this is because I’m a 5 ft 98 pound person and I don’t want to get trampled) However I’ll have a crush on someone if they have a good personality, very nerdy, either pretty eyes or over the top amount of freckles also preferably 5 foot 5 or taller I want to be able to wear heels and still be shorter, also in shape(doesn’t have to have visible muscles but like someone who goes to the gym like twice a week Also other add ons, good with kids, can cook(like say I’m out late and won’t come home in time to cook they should be able to not resort to ordering food, also being able to braid hair, also in terms of going to a restaurant don’t be broke, I’m not paying for your meal 100% of the time, you pay 50% of them time I pay 50% of the time Lol now that I type it out I sound hella picky

it doesn't matter if your expectations are too high or too low. what's important is that you know what you want in a partner, what is really important and what matters to you. this song is about lowering your expectations, but why ? guys and girls can have high expectations and if they don't find someone, maybe then they'll lower their expectations on their own if it's not working out. but this song seems to be saying that having those expectations are bad. when i think, in reality, there's nothing wrong with having expectations if that is what you want.
