Keep up the great work man, can’t wait to hear this thing running, should be interesting to see how the EFI works for you, that’s what I’m wanting to put on my 69 once I swap in the 351W

Love this engine build, appreciate you keeping the FE engine and making some upgrades. I think some people are too ready to swap engines in old cars, when the original style engines can be reliable and easy to work on. Enjoyed the video!

Check your bolt pattern on the exhaust manifolds. It looks like there might be a misalignment on the exhaust manifolds.

Forget what I said. The new headers look like they will line up with the heads.

Having been an owner of the Sniper 1 and still dealing with problems, hopefully Holley sorted out the problems with the Sniper 2 or there won't be any "reliability."

@jaynecobb671114 сағат бұрын
FE's can be a expensive project. Just a Edelbrock intake manifold can be 400 bucks and up. It isn't a cheap engine to build. A stroker 442 can run 8-10 thousand, start to finish. Without a sniper 2 or a Marsh serpentine belt system. Those are extra. FE's aren't cheap.

That engine is rad! Should have put a choppy cam in though 😊
@jaynecobb671113 сағат бұрын
Choppy cam means new push rods, which means you better know FE valve geometry or have a FE build book to do it properly. And a pretty big budget. Choppy FE cam $350 or so. Push rods $100 or so. Hydraulic Lifters $275 or so. Roller rockers $700 or so. Rocker shaft and arm assembly better than stock (a weak point on the FE with a choppy cam, you could break the end of the rocker shaft off) $700 - $1,400 or so. And the $$$$ goes UP from there. And don't get me started on aluminum heads to make that choppy cam 'efficient'. FE engine is NOT a inexpensive engine to work on or to have a choppy idle. These engines were designed to be stump pullers, LOTS and LOTS of torque, so-so HP. So you better plan to eat Ramin for awhile to pay for that choppy cam.

Yeah I remember doing King pins for the first time in my life, I was helping my friend install them on his 62 Impala let’s just say we struggled for the first 3-4 hours until his Pops showed up and introduced us to a king pin bushing reamer. Let’s just say he had to buy a new set of bushing and king pins.

I think it would've been easier to slap a big choppy cam in than change all the springs. Or that's how it would've justified the purchase to myself. Congrats on all the new stuff.
